They are a pain in the ****. You have to take the valve cover off, remove the fuel lines, remove the inlet valve, remove the rocker arms, then unscrew the injector out. There is no doubt, that you can do it yourself, just leave yourself 3-4 hours probably.

Changed computor wont start

FIRST CHECK YOUR FUEL PUMP TO ENSURE IT IS WORKING PROPERLY, THEN DO A FUEL PRESSURE TEST. AN AVERAGE READING WILL READ BETWEEN 15 AND 30 LBS. THEN YOU NEED TO BE MORE SPECIFIC IS IT GAS OR DIESEL IF IT IS A DIESEL THEN YOU NEED TO LOOK INTO INJECTOR PRESSURE THE AVERAGE CUMMINS COMMON RAIL PRESSURE AVERAGES AROUND 5,000 TO 8,000 PSI ANYTHING LESS THAN 5,000 PSI THE TRUCK WILL NOT START OR WILL BE HARD TO START.

99 Dodge ram 2500 with cummins diesel stalled and won't restart. Changed fuel filter, and determined that there is fuel going to injector pump.

loosen one fuel line to one of the injectors, try to start the truck and look for the fuel to spray out of the line. it should spray rather hard if the injector pump is working right. if it just dribbles or trickles out you have a weak pump.

I have a 1999 dodge cummins 1500. While changing oil last weekend, i noticed i had a large amount of diesel fuel in the crank case. does this sound like a injector pump problem? it has 190000 miles on the...

How much is a "large amount"? And how long has it been since your last oil change? It is normal for a diesel engine to have fuel in the crankcase due to the high compression ratio. I believe if there is less than a liter (quart) after 4,000 miles then you have nothing to worry about. If it is more then I would suggest you have it inspected for leaking injectors.

Is there a easy way of taken injectors out

if you will get a wrench and then with engine running, loosen the fuel injector lines 1 at a time, you will find the bad cylinder when it doesn't change the way the engine runs when you loosen the line to the bad injector/cylinder

2006 Ram 2500 Cummins inline 6 diesel -- fuel leak under hood

I'm no expert but I had a similar problem. On October 10th, 2009 I smelled the same thing. I own a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins. It has about 150,000 miles. The next day I checked under the hood and found that the #4 injector tube was leaking and providing a fine mist of diesel fuel all over the engine compartment and firewall. The trouble seemed to be from the plastic clamp that is suppose to hold the tube in place. It was very loose and I feel that is the reason for the break/leak. The leak was right at the compression fitting on the tube where it passes through the nut that connects it to the injector. I called around to find the replacement parts and the dealer wanted about $75 for the tube and about $12 for the plastic clamp. I found the Cummins dealer wanted around $21 for the whole assembly and that included the plastic clamp assembly as well. Don't go to the dealer!!! I replaced the injector tube in about 20 minutes because it took about 10 to find my tool box. The repair was easy and everything is back to 100% fine and no leaks. I believe that if I had to replace injector tube # 5 or 6 it would have been a lot bigger deal because they are so far back and under the firewall. Difficult for someone without any more than standard wrenches. The only trouble I had was getting something of the proper height to stand on for good leverage. This one is a do it yourself and save project.

Dodge cummins won't start, fuel reaching injector pump but no fuel coming out of injector pump.

You said you have fuel flowing from the inlet line of the injection pump? But not at the injector lines?
