Do I need to reset the panel with new battery installation?

If the battery light is still showing then there is a good chance your alternator is not charging properly. The battery light should reset on its own if everything is in good working order.

you might have to take it in and have them reset the light, they usually reset themselves but i know on some vehicles they need to be reset by a computer

PCS light came on but went off in a minute or 2. what does PCS stand for? n why would it jus come on n off?

PCS= Precision Control System. It is ESC - electronic stability control. The system builds on the ABS and Traction Control, and applies the brakes to reduce the risk of fishtailing. You must have been trying to drift it : ) - it was telling you it was trying to stop what you were doing. It comes on and goes off, just like a low traction light comes on in snow and ice. Normal. Unless you were just driving straight. Then you need to go to the dealer and get the codes pulled.

Ford Laser Oil light doesnt show up?

Have a mechanical oil pressure test done. This will verify that the engine has sufficient oil pressure, it may be that the light bulb burned out sense it wont come on even when the key is in the start position.

remove loke 4 lo lexes lx 570 200908-18-2009, 10:08 PM 08-18-2009, 10:08 PM Hello. New to DA forums. Haven't been able to find this information anywhere. Thanks in advance for your help. 2002 Accord SE 4 Cyl A/T 41,000 miles 2nd Owner No previous problems Haven't felt any difference in driving, but Check Engine Light came on recently. The car is running fine, but I haven't been driving it and I need to get the CEL cleared so I can get my car inspected (PA). Pulled the codes--P1738: Problem in 2nd Clutch Pressure Switch Circuit. No visible problems with any wires running into what I thought was the correct part, so I ordered the part. It arrived ok, but I have not been able to locate the location of the pressure switch anywhere under my hood. I was incorrect with where I thought it was. I have the service manual which indicates the location on 1 diagram. The diagram is an exploded view, and I'm having difficulty orienting it. If anyone can tell me how to locate this part, or even point me in the right direction (like a photo or better diagram), I'd really appreciate it. Back-story: I contacted 3 Honda dealers in the area, including where the car was originally purchased. None would help without having my car looked at by a 'Honda Certified Tech' for about $95 to pull the same codes. They wouldn't even run my VIN to tell me if my car qualified for an extended warranty if it was a tranny problem, despite the low mileage. None of the mechanics would acknowledge there have been numerous problems with the 98-02 Accord trannies. I found a 4th dealer who would diagnose and order me the proper parts to fix it myself for $86 + parts. Problem is it's about 2 hours away. The 4th dealer told me the part # for the 2nd Clutch Pressure Switch is 28600-p6h-003. He wanted $70, non-returnable shipped. For $40 shipped, I found a returnable Honda Genuine part online. Figured this was a good place to start. If it doesn't clear the code, I'll return the part and bring it to a dealer. Thanks! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- insceptor08-19-2009, 07:50 AM I took a picture of where I thought it might be located. Can anyone tell me if this is the correct location before I start disconnecting everything to get to it? It appears a single, BLUE wire is running to the part. The wire connector attached to the part is black, and connector on the part itself looks green. My connector on the replacement part is also green. Thanks! The wiring diagram I have shows the wire should be blue with a black tracer. As the code states the problem may be more likely to be with the wiring or connector than the switch itself. I would pull the connector, clean it if it looks dirty, hook it back up then clear the code by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. If the code comes back then I might change the sensor. The Honda service manual indicates you need to remove the rear motor mount bracket to access that switch. Good Luck -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- insceptor08-19-2009, 10:46 AM Thanks so much! I'll get started as soon as it stops raining. I'll test the wiring before swapping the switch, like you recommended. I'll let you know how it it goes... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- insceptor08-20-2009, 06:57 AM That is indeed the correct part location. I actually came in from the top of the engine and removed the upper radiator hose and air intake to access the part. Taking off the radiator hose proved to be the most difficult task. I checked the wiring to the pressure switch, but everything was in order there. No breaks in the wiring or debris in the connector. I installed the new switch last night. This has resolved the issue. The Check Engine Light has remained off since then. The Maintenance Required light came on, but it has remained off after I reset it by putting the key in the ignition in position II and holding down the Odo Reset button for 10-15 seconds. This likely just has something with me disconnecting the battery. I will post pictures and more details soon to show others how to resolve this issue. Thanks again NEHONDA, I would not have attempted to disconnect everything and perform the swap without your confirmation. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ravisonika09-15-2009, 02:08 PM Hi , I have similar problem as insceptor . The 3rd clutch pressure switch is located as shown by the picture in post #2 (but not easy to reach). If the transmission is shifting normally, the problem may be intermittent and it wont hurt to continue to drive it. If it starts shifting rough or slipping you need to get it fixed asap. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ravisonika09-16-2009, 03:00 AM thanks nehonda , bit sigh of relief that it is not a too serious problem . It seems that below picture is taken for 2nd clutch pressure switch . Any pic may be of great help . thanks again. My bad, I thought you were looking for the same 2nd clutch pressure switch location as the OP, but after rereading your post I realize you are looking for the 3rd clutch switch. It is item 15 on the previous diagram and located near the transmission dipstick - more toward the front of the transmission and toward the passenger side. According to the service manual it has a blue wire with a white tracer. Sorry no pictures. For what its worth, the service manual states the P1738 & P1739 (2nd & 3rd switch) codes do not trigger a flashing D4 light or the MIL light (check engine). The codes are only stored for readout later. If you had a MIL light it might have been due to something else that was temporary and the trany switch code was just a old stored code. Hope it helps. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bruce Hawkins09-16-2009, 05:10 PM I think this the interment problem I had it was accompanied with "P??? Pending code"... Any way if your savvy with the search tool, do a search of me and trany problems, on this web site. Turned out to just be a ghost problem, shows up, and disappears, every 50K miles or so. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ravisonika09-19-2009, 09:42 AM thanks nehonda and Bruce Hawkins. I tried to locate 3rd clutch pressure switch without any success. Can you help me to locate it in the attached picture and pinpoint where to see this switch ? I will try to change it if possible . Also i tried to reset CEL by taking off fuse of Clock or pressing the reset button but CEL is still on . Car is running fine . thanks for all your help . -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- nehonda09-19-2009, 11:35 AM The 3rd clutch switch is not visible in any of the photos in your post. It is below the battery and about 4 inches left (toward passenger side) of the transmission dipstick. There will be one wire connected to it with the previously noted colors. I think you should be able to find it without removing anything else, but it is somewhat hard to see. Good Luck -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ann7707-25-2011, 04:30 PM I too had this code read out for the faulty 2nd clutch pressure switch on my Honda Accord 2002 SE. I am thinking of replacing the switch by my self but the problem is that I have searched for the replacement part at rockauto.com, advanceautoparts.com, autozone.com and also googled it but I am unable to find a website that sells it. Could someone please help me find a genuine online store that sells this switch. Thanks. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Terms of Use
