SOURCE: Grinding noise when doors lock/unlock

Well the motor that locks the door is either breaking or either the wire or some part that moves is rubbing on something else. Take off the inner door panel and find the Exact location of the noise and you can replace the part. The door panel will be held on with screws and removable tabs that should pop out. Let me know if you get stuck. the parts can be bought at a dealer or gotten from a salvage yard

check www.car-parts.com for the nearest salvage yard if you want to go that route

my best to you

SOURCE: My Electric door locks will not accuate on my 2001 Mercury Sable

if they work from the car door then you will need to have your remote battery checked, if it doesnt work from the car door then chances are there is a lose wire or connection. Also sometimes the knob can get bent and miss aligned. Simple checks are can you hear the the lock trying to lock when you push the button? Do you have two remotes, have you tried the second one?

My doom light and dashlights turned on but the trunk light and door lights do not come on and the radio comes on

Sounds like the door ajar switch is stuck, some spray lube and manipulation should correct that condition (the dome light),the trunk light situation is very likely similar in nature, check bulb and switch.Due to vehicle not being used for such a long time likely caused these problem, but both are easy and cheap repairs.

My overhead dome light will not come on.

Does it come on with the cargo switch and not doors or not on at all. If it does not come on at all then it might be a fuse. If all fuses are good, you will have to remove the doom light cover and check the bulb, if the bulb is good then remove the doom light assembly and check the wires on the back side of it for loose connections or the switch on the doom light as well for loose connections.

Door locks not working, passager side windows not working, dome light on always.

sounds like a broken wire it is very common for them to break in the door hinge area normally more on the drivers side because it is opened the most flexing the wires in the door fold and the door light switch is in the latch and if the wire is broke to the switch in the latch the body control module thinks the door is open the whole time.the wires that power the passenger window have to come from the drivers master window switch. the door locks are the same way.

Electrical issues

Sounds like one of the door switches is broken. On your model, it could be a small plunger by the front of each door jamb, or the latch itself. Check them all for visible damage first, then test each on for function.

The window on driver side switch doesn't work all the time it gets stuck down. Heated seat comes on all the time sometimes 8 or 10 times in a 5 minute period.

for the power window, check the fuse and relay for same, check the switch by turning on the doom light an then depress the switch, if the light dims then same is working, check the motor by add 12v directly to same. for the heated seats check the switch, its malfuctioning

Mazda 1999 2500 pick up- courtesy light problem

A:

Shoot a bunch of WD40 into the keyway (both doors), let soak, come back in five minues. Put your doom light bulbs back in and test. In case that doesn't work, take your doom light bulbs out forever. The light activator is deep inside the door (some magent thing is as close as I ever came to an answer?), good luck w/ finding it. I took the entire door panel off to replace a driver's side mirror and couldn't find it with two hands, a flashlight and a Chilton's manuel.

Q:
How do I get my check engine light off? I changed both parts on both codes from three different AutoZones. The EGR valve and EGR value sensor and a new hose from the manifold to the catalytic converter. Only thing I can think is to look for a vacuum leak, change the oil, rotate the tires, get new struts and shocks, a front end alignment, get my heat shield welded back into place, get a full tune up, change the transmission fluid, and two new oxygen sensors and these should hold her for quite a while. Rear brakes don't seem to be grabbing correctly, it feels uneven. Anti-lock brakes don't come on. I also replaced the speedsensor this time last year. And need a new windshield. How much will all this cost?

Driver side door lock

The switch is finding its ground thru the interior light switch. Your problem is most likely a broken wire in side the rubber boot that goes from the door to the body near the door hindges.
