My 1999 Ford Taurus Lx, idles to low. I have to keep my foot on the gas pedal

If you have recently replaced the battery, disconnected the battery or had to jump start the Taurus, you have likely reset the electronics.

The result of this reset is that the engine control module needs to relearn the running parameters including the idle point.

It take several minutes of idle/driving to reset the baseline parameters and during this interval keeping the engine from stalling is a challenge.

Hope this helps?

My alternator keeps going out

The voltage regulator isn't being turned on when it is need

The challenge it to look at wiring diagrams & see what controls it

Jumping a dead battery is a dangerous thing to do

Batteries require they be fully charged before being put
back into service- to continue any testing

If you even jump a car made in the last decade,
you may smoke the electronics

On newer cars you disconnect the battery, to charge
it alone from the vehicles systems

HOW TO TAKE OUT BATTERY 2003 OLDS SIL

Remove wiper assembly plastic cover. Then remove front bolt that holds the cross brace bar over the battery. Loosen the bolt at the other end of the brace bar and rotate brace bar from over the battery to a new location and proceed to remove the plastic battery hold down mount on bottom of battery.Disconnect the negative then positive battery cables from the battery then rotate battery up and out of compartment -- this is a very tight fit. It will come out and the clearance is very small. This is a neat challenge. Be sure to buy proper size battery for replacemeent

1997 grand am battery will not stay charged. It is not the battery or the altinator. I allready replaced the tension pully.

There might be a trickle draw on the battery, a 'short' if you will in some circuit connected to the battery. Use an inductive ammeter that has a probe that surrounds either the Positive or the Negative wire coming from the battery to measure the draw at rest. If it is 0.2 A or less draw, that's acceptable. If it is 0.4 to 2 Amps draw, there could be a problem with a short. Finding the source of the draw can be a challenge and an auto electric shop could be helpful in this area.

Charging system failure

Love a challenge! Okay so what symptoms?
Dim headlights? No start?
If the battery is fully charged can you start and drive the car? If yes, then during a sunny day take it to a parts house, close to home, have them test your system, they will do this for free as they hope to sell you parts! 2006 don't suspect your battery. slipping belt or deffective regulater and or alternator are prime candidates here. Do you have a volt meter and a battery charger? Check the battery voltage prior to starting the car then after starting, does it remain the same or go up. The charger you will need if the battery is to discharged to allow the previous testing to be done. Lucky parts if you can do these things then swapping the parts will be withing your skill level, if not then find a reputable mechanic.
Good Luck
