Question about GMC Cars & Trucks
After having a side mirror replaced my power locks sometimes work , then mabe after them working a few times they wont all lock the the driver door the rest stay unlocked .Using remote or not .....when they removed the morror to fix it they just cut it off rite through the wires ....A man told me that they should have un connected the battery most likely messed my wireing up he said .
Every possibility that by cutting the wires they have shorted vital electronics . Check all fuses and then reset the CPU program by using a code reader. The man was right . The battery should have been disconnected but there are connectors in the wiring that only has to be pulled apart to facilitate removal of faulty equipment. I would be having a very serious discussion with the shop and make them pay for any equipment that was damaged by their actions

Look in the Engine bay fuse box at Fuse #12 this should be for the power windows. If this checks out OK, it could be a fault with a bad ground wire in driver's side door harness. You should be able to pry the runbber boot from the drivers door, and check the larger Black wire that goes through it. These have been known to break after a few years use. If it is the cable, cut neatly, strip the ends anu use a crimp splice. Hope this is a quick and easy fix for you. If it helps you solve the problem, Please take a moment to rate as Fixya! Thanks.

I had the same problem with now power to windows, mirrors and seat. The common soulution is the orange and or black wire in the boot have broken between the door and post.

Sounds familiar - I pulled the rubber boot back and found the black wire was broken. I stripped the wires and put on a couple bullet connectors (terminators) and all is good. Just wish I would have seen this post before I took the door panel off... Oh well...

Aside from the fuses, your drive side power door lock may be failing to work because of a bad door-lock relay system, or, alternatively, the locking switch/button, itself, is not malfunctioning and in need of replacement.
A great handyman site that specifies the above probable causes and more is the following link:
