Lift the reservoir clear of the compartment and disconnect the connection for the pump . It will be held in by screws or pressed in through a rubber grommet. / seal . Replace the pump as a unit as there is no seal for the pump shaft.

my problem is getting the windshield reservoir out from the compartment it is located inn. do i remove the passenger side tire and remove the housing that protects the engine compartment. i am sorry i did not word my question properly to receive the proper answer

  • Bill Boyd Mar 19, 2014

It may be necesasary to remove a cover or wheel ( do the easiest first). It may not be necessary to remove the reservoir when you get there as the pump may be in a position where you can remove it

Bill thank you so for your infow and you are right. I went to a u-pull-it junk yard and pulled the hole reservoir with pump attached for 10.00 dollars. I removed the housing inside wheel well to get what i needed.

Where is the fuse for the water pump for the window washer

A washer pump in a car's windshield wiping system moves washer fluid from a reservoir through hoses. The motorized pump pressurizes the fluid to allow it to be squirted from the hoses through nozzles onto the front and/or rear windshield of a car. The washer fluid helps windshield wipers get rid of rain, dirt, or other objects that can interfere with a driver's visibility. If your washer fluid is not being sent out when activated, the solution could simply be filling the washer system's reservoir with more fluid or cleaning the nozzles and hoses. In more severe cases, the washer pump may need to be replaced. Here are steps to troubleshoot a windshield-washer pump.
