Question about 2001 Chevrolet Impala
Is this left handed threads?
Looking at the front of the engine, the harmonic balancer turns clockwise when running. You will need to turn the bolt anti clockwise as it is a normal right hand thread.

it is right hand thred and very dificult to remove. The best way is with an impact gun and a lot of air pressure behind it. then you will need a puller to get the pully off

You will need to get a puller. They can be bought at most autoparts stores, some will even rent them. Just be sure that you tell them it's for a harmonic balancer. Attach it to the balancer with the included bolts and tighten it up. When it gets tight give the tightening bolt a sharp rap with a hammer and tighten some more. Continue until the balancer comes off. Hope this helps.
