How to change positive battery cable

START BY REMOVING THE NEGATIVE CABLE FROM THE BATTERY. REMOVE THE POSITIVE CABLE FROM BOTH TERMINALS, REPLACE WITH THE NEW ONE. AFTER THIS ONE IS SOLID IN PLACE AND THE CONNECTIONS ARE TIGHT, RECONNECT THE NEGATIVE CABLE.
SEE IN THE OWNERS MANUAL IF THERE IS A RESET PROCEDURE (BATTERY CHANGE).

How do i change the positive battery terminal cable only because it is slightly melted and car won't start?

It is important that battery connections are good and tight. If your cable is damaged, it is best to get a new one along with the terminal connections and is not expensive. It's pretty easy to see how the connections are made, but if you're unsure, just consult a parts store rep. They're usually pretty happy to lend assistance. Replacement time is probably about 10 minutes. Be sure the battery is completely disconnected before replacing any cables.

I have a 98 corvette I changed the battery and the car won't turn over

Why did you change the battery? Was the car running before you changed the battery? Did you remove your negative cable first before your positive cable on your battery? I ask cause sometimes people ground the positive cable to ground when they remove their battery and blow a fuse or relay. If they are good check your battery and starter you might have a loose cable. Let me know how you make out.

Need to change battery cables in a 2006 Dodge durango

Are you sure you need to replace the entire cable or just replace the terminals that the cable is connected to?The terminals may be worn out and loose which leads to corrosion. Simply go to an auto parts store and buy the appropriate terminals and replace them. You can also get a wire brush to clean the cables before installing the new terminals. Also there are some corrosion protectors that help aid in corrosion.
