Why were the fuel lines changed? could have a air pocket depress the relief valve on the fuel rail and see if you are getting fuel this will also release the air in the lines

I changed the fuel pump to my car but still it can't start and the engine is 1zz

Assuming fuel pump was in gas tank unless older vehicle, in front of gas tank under the car will be a fuel filter...canister shaped..like a miniature coke can...has one line coming from gas tank, one coming from front of filter to engine, will either have lines that thread into filter or plastic clips you remove and take lines off..take filter off and dump into a clear bottle, if gas is dirty or has trash you prob need to replace fuel fiter..also you should be able to blow through the filter without virtually any resistance..if its not similar to blowing through a straw..filter is clogged..also you can just take fuel line off in front of filter...have someone turn the key to on position...when you turn key to on not crank just on..fuel pump powers on for a couple seconds and if filter isn't clogged you should have fuel come out the front side of fuel filter

are there any codes? have you checked the pressure in the fuel line. you may have a bad fuel pressure regulator. or a bad crank position sensor. spray starter in the throttle body and see if it starts

just because the fuel pump clicks when u turn the key doesnt mean its not going bad, have you had it changed, or the fuel filter changed since u purchased the vehicle?

Ran out of diesel now vehicle won't start

This is not unusual on a diesel. What happens is there is air in the system. If this vehicle has an electric fuel pump loosen line where fuel enters injection pump then turn ignition key to the on position and watch for fuel to appear and then quickly tighten line before turning off key. Then try to start. If does not have electric fuel pump will need a second person. One will loosen line and watch while other cranks vehicle until you get fuel and tighten line before the other person releases ignition switch unless vehicle starts first. If that doesn't do the job do this where line hooks onto each injector. Probably will not have to do this to all injectors but could run rough until all the air gets out of everything. I have farmed with diesel tractor for 25 years and dad I drove the gm vehicles with the 5.7. You normally don't start a diesel without bleeding the air out of the lines although some will self bleed most won't. Hope this does the trick.

Fuel pump issues, car won't start, but cranks. I want to know where the fuel pump is and how I can see if it is working properly. How do you diagnose the fuel system issues.

the fuel pump is located in the fuel tank.

I assume you don't have a fuel pressure gauge so the first thing you can do is climb under the vehicle and disconnect the plastic fuel line where it connects to the metal line about in the center of the van up where the front seats would be. Have a drain pan under this area to catch any fuel and be ready to be sprayed if there is fuel pressure in the line. Safety glasses would be a good idea and you can wrap a rag around the line right before you fully disconnect the two lines to help avoid spraying gas everywhere.

keep the drain pan under the area of the disconnected line. Turn the key on but do not start the vehicle. You should see gas spray out of the plastic line. If you don't you're on the right track.

If there is no fuel, reconnect the lines and look back by the fuel tank. You will see the harness. find the dark green with white wire. It is the power supply to the fuel pump. Check for power on that wire. If you have power than you have a bad pump.

If you have any questions let me know. Thank you for using Fixya.com!

Won't start after short trip like its vaper locked

STARTING / IDLING PROBLEMS / MISSING

Your problem may be one of the following:
First check or just replace the fuel filter. Usually located under the car in front of the rear axle, drivers side.
Next, the fuel pump may be worn out. Usually they just stop working (running).
Next, check the fuel pressure regulator. Usually located on the front fuel rail, drivers side.
Is the vacuum line attached? Not leaking or rotted?
Also, do you smell a strong fuel odor when it won't start? May be one or more stuck-open injectors, or the coil pack is bad.
Checking these in the order listed will more than likely fix your problem.
The clicking noise indicates the battery can no longer run the starter, which also means the fuel pump won't run either.

It could be a fuel issue. How old is the fuel filter? Can you hear the pump run for a few seconds when you turn the key on? Try turning the key to ON without trying to start engine three times waiting for the pump to stop running each time. Then try to start the engine. If it starts, Its a form of Vapor lock caused by the extreme heat we have had lately.

If none of this works, try a new fuel filter first. From there have someone check the fuel pressure regulator and then the pump. If you are in need of a new pump, take my word for it and spend the money to get one from FORD, and not from your favorite parts store. Most parts store parts are made in China and they are JUNK.

Have you hooked a scanner to the computer and checked the oxygen sensor(s)? If they are bad they could lean out the engine.

VAPOR LOCK
Check the following:
Cooling system working properly including fans.
Under hood fuel lines touching coolant or heater hoses.
Fuel lines under vehicle close to or not shielded from exhaust pipe, converter, muffler. Fuel lines pinched or crushed.
Fuel filter changed recently.
Fuel pump pressure.
Cheap(Bad) gas.

I'm a little confused. You changed all the fuel filters? How many do you have? If you have a late model vehicle, then your fuel pump is in the fuel tank. How did you put an in line filter before the pump. Is your vehicle gas or diesel?
