Question about 1994 Nissan 300ZX

Ford f250 u joint

I have a 1974 ford f250 and the rear u joint on the transfer case is wearing bad on the ubolt half and never the driveline half i am not over tightening the ubolts is there another possibility?

Just renew the hookes cross or U joint to you ,they will wear with time unless you fit one with a grease nipple in andf grease it regular

I have a 2003 Ford f250 heavy duty 5.4l.On the rear axle,left side, the hub has got about 1mm play.How can i tighter the bearing up ? Could you send me an exploded view of the hub and axle ?


Wheel bearings are designed for longevity. Their life expectancy, based on metal fatigue, can usually be calculated if general operating conditions are known. Bearing failures not caused by normal material fatigue are called permanent failures. The causes can range from improper lubrication or incorrect mounting, to poor condition of the shaft housing or bearing surfaces.

Inspect the bearings for these improper wear conditions, and for:

A. pitting.
B. rust.
C. corrosion.
D. Excessive clearance(play)

If you find any of the above stated damage. The bearings should be replaced not adjusted. To service the wheel bearings, you'll need to repack the bearings and replace the grease seal.

Slack at rear driveshaft slip yoke and transfer case with driveline vibration


replace the drive shaft as the splines will be worn out especially if on the front shaft. Check u-joints for wear as they work at max angle and are prone to early failure If the front has sagged (weak springs) the angle gets worse.

How would i know if my cv joint is going bad on my 94 ford ranger 2 wheel drive


A two wheel drive ranger does not have any c.v. Joints. It does have u joints in the rear drive shaft. Worn out u joints can cause vibrations at highway speeds, squeezing noises at low speeds, and in some cases a clunking noise when the transmiissin is placed in park or drive. You can check them by pulling the drive shaft and ratting the joint. If it is stiff or loose than they are likely bad. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. 2007 ford fusion awd v-6 driveline or suspension area or assembly makes a noise (possibly a bearing) when car is in motion. When not moving and motor is running, there is no noise. Appears to be coming...


It sounds to be a Constant Velocity Joint (CV JOINT)...You can look under the car at the ft.axles nd inspect the cv joint rubber boots...Normally they will split from wear or road debree and through the grease out making the bearings go bad...However some will go bad without the boot being torn...If that is the case it is best to replace the whole axle when determining which side it is.....Hope this helps..Check all components for looseness ...You really need to put it on a lift and check it.......Metalpoet

Yes...
The tire sizes are important on any 4X4 vehicle... IF you engage the 4X4 ... or is you have an AWD vehicle...

If the tires are different sizes , front and rear... then the front and rear axles will turn at different speeds... not in sync with the gearing of the transfer case.

Unless this vehicle is being driven on snow , ice or mud.... while in 4x4 mode... this is very bad.... for axles and transfer case...

When i am driving and get to 30 km/h it starts to sound like something is ratling, but when i switch to 4x4 it goes away and will stay away untill i switch back to two wheel drive.


sounds like the transfer case or front driveline has a loose component, it gets enough tension when in 4x4 to go silent, but loose enough to make noise when not in use. also look at front u-joints if in a pre-96 pickup/

95 passport shakes when4x4 is engaged during acceleration


Bad u-joints at front driveline and/or u-joints at axle connection from behind rotors- going into front differential. Need new u-joints at either the driveline front and back (going into differential or to Transfer case) or the Left and Right side axles going into the differential. Put Locking (or "Lock-outs) hubs on front axles... WARN brand are best... about $75 a pair and you can do it yourself, easily.

Want to convert 93 grand cherokee from 4x4 to 4x2 .. what's neede


take the tansfer case out take the driveline off the front and get a new driveline going to the rear because without transfer case you rear driveline wont be long enough to reach the rear diff, about 8 hours work and $600.00 ruff est, that is only if the transmission is still good
