Question about 1984 Chevrolet Camaro
I bought a 700r4 that was bolted to a v6 91 rs camaro to replace with my v8 camaro. everyone said that it should be universal. well. the one that came off the camaro has a pointed top and the one that i bought has a flat top. and im talking about the bolt pattern by the way. anyway. i havent tried yet but im concerned if itll bolt up or not. i know for sure everything on the v6 tranny looks exactly like a 700r4 except for the bolt pattern. i know its not a 200r4 cuz i matched up the tranny pan with a diagram. please help! thanx
I believe the bolt pattern is the same that transmission should bolt up to your v-8 assuming it's a small block, the transmission should work fine, you may need to modify the shifter but everything else should be compatible, if your v-8 is carberated make sure you have the correct throttle link set up because correct tv cable adjustment is critical, the v-6 transmission may have a lighter stack up in the 3-4 drum so dont be to hard on it while in 3rd or 4th.
