Hi Heather, I'm glad to help!
Being in the automotive field for over 40 years I have run across some pretty crazy stuff that causes the ABS light to come on go. I one time I found an axle bent and was causing the sensor not to pick up the signal at times. Once on the rear of a car I found the axle nut loose so it was causing the axle to move in and out so the sensor would not send the signal at times. Also other things like frayed wiring can cause this issue because when you turn a corner the frayed wiring falls over and grounds out on something and kills the signal going to the ABS Module. Other times I have found more than others connector issues, where the terminals in the connector are spread to much and looses the signal. Heather, things like this is what you need to look for with your ABS issue. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Heather.

Slow/hard acceleration

I doubt either problem would cause the issue. The sensor would turn the abs light on, but that disables the abs brakes. The axle either works or it doesn't.

2000 volvo S40 speedometer won't work, ABS light on, Starts out in 4th gear

I had same issues on my 99 S80, turned out to be the spline gears on the end of the CV Axles that send signal to Wheel Speed Sensors. Their is one on each wheel, but the ones that gave me all the issues where only the front two. Problem was had to replace the entire CV Axle to be able to get new spline gear, but was only about $60, so was worth it.

Dsc warning light on , bmw e46

Dynamic Stability Control....a derivitave of ABS / Traction control. The control unit that monitors the dynamics will most likely be sensing a difference in the measured wheel speeds. Possibly defective ABS sensor, wiring, ABS exciter ring, ABS module or steering angle sensor. Can also be triggered by wheel spin.
Have a diagnostic scan done ( cost £30 - £50 approx at good local garage) to read the fault codes first. If you get a fault code relating to "ABS module pressure sensor" the module requires replacement (common issue). Used to be a £1400 job, but repair kit now available from dealer for £180 ish and 2 hours to fit.

I am having a horrible grinding sound and vibration in my brake pedal and i can sometimes feel it in my steering wheel while turning. My ABS and Trac Off lights keep coming on as well. I got the left...

Grinding sound ? May be worn brake pads, down to the metal against the rotors. Vibration, could be a warped rotor, wheels not balanced, worn outter tie rods. The ABS light will come on if the tooth ring is broken, giving you a pulsing pedal. That is what the ABS does.

There are abs modules on each wheel axle. Are you trying to find the main abs unit?

Abs light

The light is on because there is a fault in the ABS system, while the light is on the system is disabled, as soon as the ABS problem that turned the light on is fixed the light will go out, have a self test run of the ABS control module for a trouble code, this will steer you in the right direction to fix the issue.

Code c1277 (steering angle sensor)

this vehicle uses a steering control module and the antilock control module. Both modules get a signal from the steering angle sensor. We found that the steering module didnot show a steering sensor code but the ABS module did show the code.
after checking that the wiring was intact and with good continuity, it was determined that the fault lies in the ABS module.
A new ABS module and configuration confirmed the diagnosis. It's fixed!
