Question about Cars & Trucks
I've got a corolla verso that works with a key fob and push button start rather than a traditional key. The car starts fine but the key fob won't unlock or lock the car, I've changed the batteries but both my usual key fob and spare stopped working at the same time which would suggest it's something on the car? They key fob still starts the engine and I can Central lock using the door lock on the inside but remote isn't doing anything. Have phoned locksmiths and toyota garage but jot getting anywhere without minimum 50 for diagnosis, help please?
This one you may be stuck paying the 50 dollars but what I would do first is contact the manufacturer of the remote control. I would bet they will help you out. The other option is to go to an after market installer of car alarms that is a bit smaller. They will most likely help you in the hopes of you coming back for further business.

SOURCE: porsche key fob
If the key had gone faulty, the key code must be re programmed on the vehicle computer. This can be done only using a PIWIS tool, available at the dealer or at a qualified Porche garage.
Try also the following reset:
turn ignition on,
remove the transponder from the column
push any button on the fob within 6 seconds.
This procedure will reset the key synchronizing again with the vehicle computer.

THEN TRY IF STILL NOTHING, THEN TRY TURNING KEY TO THE RUN POSITION AND LEAVE FOR 10 MINUTES.. THEN TRY IF STILL NO THEN GET BACK WITH ME FOR FURTHER INFO
