2000 hyundai elantra passenger window fell down, electric windows, cable broke and twisted up, how much is a motor for window

There are two fuses that cover the power windows, but if it is only one window, it is likely to be the switch, the wiring, or the motor on that particular door. An auto-electrician can diagnose. Videos may help.

The motor is a basic reversable electric motor, you provide power and ground to go one way then reverse it to go the other.
Are you getting power and ground on the wires in both directions ?

You first have to determine if the problem is being caused by an electrical problem or a mechanical problem. To do this, the electrical circuits to the window must be tested or use other clues such as the window motor making noise when the button is pushed to eliminate the electrical circuit. If the electrical circuit is working, then the problem is mechanical and the door will have to be disassembled to find the exact cause (most likely a bad motor or broken window regulator).

take your door cover off, give the window motor direct current(run 2 wires from your battery) to the harness prongs. switch the wires to prongs to make it go either up or down. If the window goes down you have a faulty window switch, if it does nothing, but get hot. you need to replace your window motor, some window motors come with new regulators too.

More than likely, the window regulator is bad. If you hear the motor "trying" to move, the regulator is bound up, or broken.

you might have a bad motor happens all the time you can get one from a auto parts store you should be able to change your self if you can work on your car.

these are operated by cable drive window lift regulator, a pain to replace, just get a new one and don't forget to lube the window run channels in the door with spray silicone, the lack of lube is what destroys the regulators, well u are at it lube them all.

hi there i hate to tell you but that job is an absoulute nightmare and yes you will need specialty tools and very small hands
