Truck won't stay running

I'm the person w/1996 gmc sonoma that didn't get a solution to my problem on June 1. I charged the battery then and the truck an fair, still hard to start. Today the truck has the same problem, it won't start unless I spray ether in the carb, then it starts but when I try to give it gas it dies again. It's like it either floods or it' not getting gas.

Check the fuel pressure at the Shredder Valve, You should have 60PSI to 65PSI upon start and should drop about 5PSI when running. If your fuel pressure is good then it may be a bad injector system. The fuel injector spider system that the vortec has are know to go bad, from the fuel pressure regulator to the puppet fuel valves. Change the fuel filter first if it has not been changed yet and have the fuel pressure check. Good luck and keep me posed. Note: it's been know that spraying ether to start the vortec with the spider injector system has got the puppet valves to catch fire and melt the ends of the puppet valve leading to the replacement to the whole system. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help.

Does it have a check engine light on  if not it sounds like a fuel problem either pump or possible injector or a psi regulator

Your Battery is Corroded or Bad.... Pull your Battery, Clean the Terminals, Charge your Battery and have it tested and if it is bad, replace it. If it is Good, then Clean the Terminals and the Post REALLY GOOD and reinstall and your problem will go away. If your Battery is Good, test your Alternator. Your Battery should have 12.6-12.8 Volts. When it is Running, it should be 13.4-14.6 Volts Depending on your Alternator and Voltage Regulator

Won't start

Check the fuel injectors, with the key on one side of the two wire connector will have battery voltage, if none is present then check the ECM fuses in the underhood fuel box.

Your local parts store will know they will look it up on their computer when you describe your vehicle. No charge cause they want to sell you the battery.

I just unhooked the battery and altenator to fix the water pump now i have no power at all after hooking it back up

Try to check the connection to the terminals for your battery and then you may have to jump start it to give it some juice and then let it run to charge back up since you completely unhooked it.
