If you remove the air cleaner assembly and look at the throttlebody directly underneath it, it is on the top of the throttle body, near the 12 o'clock position. turn it to the left to add more fuel pressure, and the opposite way to recude pressuer.

It is located underneath the plenum. You would need to release the fuel-line pressure, then remove the two fuel-lines going into the plenum, then unbolt and remove the plenum. Down inside you will see the octopus (it is a module with six tubes, going out to the injectors). On the back side you will see the fuel pressure regulator. NOTE: before you do this repair, you need to buy a new gasket kit for the plenum. Make sure it comes with a new o-ring for the module to the plenum. You will not be able to reuse the old one, it will be swollen. Be careful not to pinch the o-ring or you will have a vacuum leak. If you do pinch it, you must get a new one and try again. The kit should also come with two small o-rings for the two fuel-lines you removed earlier. Well let me know if I can be anymore help, good luck.

Gm calls what you have a fuel meter, not a fuel pressure regulator. it's on the fuel pressure rail after where the fuel pipes connect to the rail. it's electric and you can find it by finding the wires that connect to it, they unplug from it so that you can take the assembly apart to get to the injectors. the fuel pump makes more pressure than the fuel rail needs, pumps it up to the meter, fuel you don't need flows back to the tank. engine computer tells the fuel meter how much to flow in. all of that plumbing and wiring comes together right in the area of the the fuel meter body. hope that helps

The fuel pressure regulator is in the injection block, which is a part of the spider injection system. You must remove the plenum intake to get to the injection system, the fuel pressure regulator is around $60.00 and the plenum Gasket is around $40.00 and your looking at around 3 hours to service this job. Good luck and hope this helps.

How to change a fuel pump on a 2000 chevy astro van

It is located in the gas tank, you will need to remove the sending unit at the top fo the tank. To access the sending unit, you will need to drop the tank by removing the straps. It is a big tank so drain as much as possible and disconnect the batter before you start.

Hope this helps

I have a 1998 chevy astro V6 over 200000 miles

The fuel pump might be working but it is not priming. When you turn on the vehicle, the pump sends fuel under pressure to the injectors, to "prime" or have fuel present to be able to start engine. Without it there will no fuel available to start it. You are manually priming the engine, and the fuel pump is taking over from there. Check connections to fuel pump and replace if necessary. It is not an inexpensive repair

the fuel pressure should be 60-66psi so i would start by changing the fuel pressure regulater to get pressure were it should be. to much pressure will bleed past the injector and cause the car to run as you described
