Before spending any more money you need to check for excessive end play in the crankshaft and if that is the cause then the bearings need to be replaced.NOTE:Ford starters do NOT require shims, you want the gears to mesh deeply as possible,

Change starter 2005 chevy van express

first disconnect batt positive. jack vehicle up on passenger side. you can see starter at rear of engine. you may have to remove plastic around bellhousing to remove starter. There are two bolts holding starter in place.usually 15 mm socket. there is a small nut holding wire. 5/16 or 11/32 socket.. remove it. large nut usually 13mm socket. once removed just reverse procedure. leave comment if successful.

Replacement bolts for ford e-350 5.8 litre van

The best place to go would most likely be your local for dealership's parts and service dept. Granted, most auto parts stores tend to stock these bolts, but from time to time, I've found that they're not an exace match for the original factory equipment. You can usually rest assured that when you go to the dealership, you'll probably be getting bolts that came out of the same batch that was used to build these vehicles at the factor, ending the worry of wrong-sized bolts and cheap steel. Not only that, we're talking about a few bolts, so you shouldn't have to worry about it costing very much. Hope this proves to be useful and have a great night!
