Get you a set of dual manifold gauges for the ac high and low side check low side is 35-45 psi and high side should be around 225 to 250 psi. If the pressures are correct. then jumper the a/c clutch with a pair of needle nose or paper clip. One last thing to test is the IAC.. if your rig's ac is controlled in-conjunction with the inlet air control valve that will also not advance idle cycle or engage compressor..

Needs to be recharged/leak fixed. the clutch wont engage because you are low on refrigerant. I'd go to wally world and get a recharge kit and then i bet it'll work.

No electrical power to AC Compressor. The switch light comes on in car when AC power button is turned on.

  1. Check if air blows with the fan setting turned to high.
  2. Check that the radiator cooling fan engages when the A/C button is pressed.
  3. Locate the compressor.
  4. Turn on the A/C.
  5. Check if the compressor's clutch has been engaged.
  6. If the clutch engages, the fault is elsewhere.
  7. If the clutch does not engage, check for power to the clutch.
These steps might help find the problem.

97 chevy suburban AC clutch won't engage pressures

Looks like the low pressure switch gets power from a 10amp ac fuse. Power then goes to the ac relay which is powered on by the ac heat controller on the dash. Power then goes thru the high pressure switch to the compressor. The ac relay is grounded to the body. Do you have power on the lite and dark green wires going into the relay and is it grounded ?

1995 chevy silverado c1500 air conditioning unit blowing hot air - what to do

There are 2 pressure switches on the refrigerant lines. Pull off a connector and short the wires on the connector. If the clutch engages then the pressure switch is bad.

Clutch wont engage in a 1995 nissan pick-up

The clutch has failed. Or is in need of adjustment. It is not contacting the flywheel which makes it run. Have the clutch checked .

AC Compressor not engaging on 2000 Chevy Impala. Fuses and AC relay okay. No power at compressor. Need wiring diagram. Also need to know if compressor requires 12v for operation. If not what should voltage...

When your R-134a runs too low it will NOT engage the compressor. You need to refill your a/c system before the clutch will engage, I also suggest finding the leak.

I have a 1997 chevy s-10 pickup. The air conditioner stopped working recently. No power to compressor. Checked fuses, relays, switches, tried to fill with r134a and it was full. Still no power to engage...

You can check fisicaly the wires to the compressor and make sure you don't have any interuption on it. Can you hot wire the compressor from the battery ? But before you do it check the panel AC switch.

Do you hear any loud whinny sounds from your compressor? if so it may need replacing. You might also want to check the AC sensor, and the AC switch module.

AC doesn't blow cold air on 95 4 runner. Can I check compressor

Well, for one with the truck idling, the RPMs should increase every time that the clutch on the compressor engages. You should be able to see it engage and disengage and the RPMs will change accordingly. If this isn't happening then you need to determine why. Have the A/C blower on low when doing this.
