Try his from someone that had the same problem...
"I have the same SRS light problem. Comes on when I start the car and stays on the whole time. I called American Honda (1-800-999-1009) and gave them my VIN number. Apparently there is a warranty extension: 10 yrs or 157,500 miles, whichever comes first on the OPDS (occupant position detector sensor) unit or OPDS sensor which can cause the SRS light to come on. Going to take it to a Honda dealer next week. If that is the problem then it will be fixed for free. If not I have to pay for the diagnosis fee which is about $100 and then however much it cost to fix the problem."
I'm having the same problem, my SRS light is on too. Just so you know, I just got a thing in the
mail from Honda for my 2001 Honda Civic DX Sedan for a recall on the
airbag system (SRS is part of the same system as airbags, I think). Hope
this gives you a bit more info!!
does the srs light come on and go off at random times and sometimes stay on if that is so check the srs switch under your seat it try moving round in the seat applying weight in diff locations and see if it goes off and on if so then you might need to replace that switch
Dan- I am here in Melbourne FL with you. I own and operate Strictly Saab and would be able to take a look at your 9-3 and any concerns you may have with flooding. From the flood, I ended up with foure vehicles which had their complete interiors removed and cleaned, some with mechanical issues, and some with strange electrical issues.
