The SRS light will go off. Tell how to turn it off.

Hi, you cannot turn it off rather you have to reset it by following the instruction below...
  1. Turn ignition switch off, remove service connector cover.
  2. Connect (jump) the MES (Memory Erase Signal) connector (this is 2 pin connector wrapped on yellow plugged in the front of the under dash fuse box).
  3. Turn ignition switch on.
  4. SRS light will come on for 6 secs then go out, remove the jumper within 4 secs after the light goes out..
  5. The SRS light will come on again, reconnect the jumper within 4 secs after the light has come on.
  6. The SRS light will go off, remove the jumper with in 4 secs after the light has gone off.
  7. The SRS light will blink 2 times indicating the memory is reset.
  8. Turn the ignition switch to off and wait for 10 seconds.

SRS light stays on

Check horn relay.

===

Check linkage / cable from throttle plate to a black unit that control the movement while on cruise control.

===

Here's a quick check list for most common cost of SRS / Air bag problem.

Dirty contacts on driver and passenger seat belt buckles

Dirty contacts on seat belt connectors (under seats)

Dirty contacts on driver and passenger sides weight sensors (under seat)

Seat covers

Weight on passenger seat
(Example: grocery package trigger SRS / Air Bag light on the way home.)

I recommend you to pass an vacuum over the contacts and use CRC electronic parts cleaner to rule out connectivity problem.

I DO NOT recommend disconnecting the negative battery connector to clean the code(s).

Without the code(s) the dealer will takes "BILLABLE" time to reproduce the problem.

SRS light on my dash board of 94 honda civic ??

Try his from someone that had the same problem...
"I have the same SRS light problem. Comes on when I start the car and stays on the whole time. I called American Honda (1-800-999-1009) and gave them my VIN number. Apparently there is a warranty extension: 10 yrs or 157,500 miles, whichever comes first on the OPDS (occupant position detector sensor) unit or OPDS sensor which can cause the SRS light to come on. Going to take it to a Honda dealer next week. If that is the problem then it will be fixed for free. If not I have to pay for the diagnosis fee which is about $100 and then however much it cost to fix the problem."

Srs light on for 2002 civic

I'm having the same problem, my SRS light is on too. Just so you know, I just got a thing in the mail from Honda for my 2001 Honda Civic DX Sedan for a recall on the airbag system (SRS is part of the same system as airbags, I think). Hope this gives you a bit more info!!

2007 0-3 Florida flood damage

Dan-
I am here in Melbourne FL with you. I own and operate Strictly Saab and would be able to take a look at your 9-3 and any concerns you may have with flooding. From the flood, I ended up with foure vehicles which had their complete interiors removed and cleaned, some with mechanical issues, and some with strange electrical issues. Feel free to contact me at 321.432.2034. Have a nice week.
