Auto Alarm install on an old chevy van, I have one wire left and cant find where to connect it

I have a 1987 chevy G10 (V6 4.3L) Van and intalled an automobile alarm in it, there is one orange wire left for the auto alarm to hook up into the vans brake light system so the brake lights will FLASH when the alarm is set off... only problem is I cant find a schematic wire diagram that shows me where to wire into the brake lights.

I have a Haynes Repair book with very poor wire diagrams for multiple year vehicles, and not only cant I find my vehicles diagram, but the details are so poor and the info so little it probably would not matter. Haynes books leave much to be desired.

I have tried cutting into three wires so far under the steering wheel column and I have failed to find the correct wire each time, I could really use the help of someone who knows wiring diagrams. It is one orange wire from the auto alarm to.... (what color wire under the steering wheel?)

SOURCE: 2002 Honda Odyssey security alarm system

Make sure your hood is shut. I just got my 2002 Honda Odyssey back from the dealer today (90,000 mile check-up - I love my van and will drive it until it dies!) and when I went to lock the van with my remote transmitter, the lights didn't flash and the horn didn't sound. I open and closed all the doors and tailgate and I could hear that the doors were locked, but the security system wasn't working and that is why the lights didn't blink or the horn didn't sound. I walked up to the front of the van to check the hood to make sure it was closed (there isn't an indicator light for an open hood, only open doors) and the hood wasn't shut completely. Once I opened the hood and let it drop to securely shut, I hit the door lock button on the remote and everything worked like a charm! Hope this helps others in this predicament.

Is this a new alarm system? Didn't it come with installation directions? The following site lists the system's wire connections; if you want to hook them up differently, do so at your own risk. Good luck.

Where does the number 1 plug wire go on the dist cap for a 87 chevy van with an hei system

Insert the number eight spark plug wire next and route it to the corresponding cylinder. For this example we use a Chevy small block firing order, which is: 1, 8, 4, 3, 6, 5, 7 and 2, rotating clockwise. The wires must connect to the corresponding cylinder numbers which are: left bank cylinders (viewing from the driver's seat) 1, 3, 5 and 7; right bank 2, 4, 6 and 8. Low numbers begin in the front of the engine.

How do i replace heater core

I believe on a 1987 chevy van the heater core should be under the black plastic cover on the firewall on the left hand side as you are standing in front of the van.
I believe you can also get to it under the passenger side dash.
It is NOT fun. Unless you are a seasoned mechanic, I would not attempt it.
Otherwise stop by your local auto center, and get a HAYNES manual, they will be able to show how to.

Van won't start after thunderstorm set off viper alarm system

Not saying this is your solution. I would do the simple thing first. Disconnect the battery for 5 to 10 minutes and see if it allows the alarm to reset. If not call your local car alarm installer. Maybe Best Buy. These companies will more than likely help you out

Electronic Control Module Installation 1994 G20 Chevy Van

I just had the same problem. If it is a regular van try under the driver seat in a plastic box. If it is a conversion van try in a pannel just behind driver seat on side of van wall behind a pannel that looks like a vent.
