Car won't start

I changed my battery, but car still needed to be jumped. Now, it no longer responds to jumps. Also, the longer I let the car sit between drives the more likely it is to start. What is wrong? What do I do?

Hey, Gaston! You must tell us what engine you 9-5 has?! The first to do is charge the battery 100%, take off the cables. Next morning try to start the car, if the car starts you may have a parasitic drain or bad battery due to a bad alternator!!!?if the car doesn t start so well or doesn t start at all, you must see first if the engine turns nice without problem, I don t think is that what happens?!But after knowing what engine you car has we can try to help you more!

If the car was left outside, it is better if you replace engine oil and fill fuel tank to remove condensed water, then replace fuel filter after about 50 Kms

If the terminal connections are good and tight and it has a good ground then it appears the battery would be at fault. To be sure, charge the battery with a charger on a low setting over night and test it again.

As a simple preliminary test, try disconnecting the battery before you let the car stand for a while and see if it will start when reconnected. (If this will not affect radio codes and alarm systems). This will give you an idea if it is the battery or something in the car that is draining the battery.

2001 s10 will jump start. After it sits, I try to start it, it won't start, but the ignition keeps dinging after I turn it off and take the key out. I can jump start it and the dinging stops.

its sounds like a bad ignition switch-try to jiggle it and see if its stop after you have turned key off- also those dinging sounds are to warn you that you have left something on -usually headlights or maybe even your dome lights which would account for your battery dying

You may have internal engine damage . broken cam or can.. try to turn the engine manually with a wrench to see if there is any problem while rotate it. In the cold weather when you start engine especially been sitting for too long, engine part need to be lubricated fast otherwise damage it will occur. check and smell the engine oil for strange condition

Won't hold a charge

its the battery. the battery holds the charge and the alternator charges it so when you jump the car it stays running because you alternator is providing power when you shut the car off you have a bad battery that isnt holding the charge needed to start it again.

If the car sits for > week, car won't start.

The car does not have an alarm system but does have a remote start system installed by a certified dealer.
