How do you know what fuel pump you need on a 1989 Cad Seville

your fuel pump is bad, it over heats and shuts off, however once it cools off you can restart it. Replace the fuel pump

Replace the brake hose. It has collapsed on the inside and the outer casing is holding pressure on the caliper.

So you have used the Noid lights to see if the computer is pulsing the Injectors, and you have GOOD Kv on the spartk minimum 25-30 Kv's?

Also it might get gas but how much gas? you need to perform a volume test there is a certain amount of fuel the car needs her minute to sustain demand load variations.

Is it port injection or thortle body? What engine is ? if its port injection your fuel pressure is to low , if its a throtle boty i think 15-18 is minimum to keep the car running, might have a bypassing fuel pump in the tank.

Check to see if you're getting any fuel to the carb/inj system. If that's good, next try the spark. Yours should not be equipped with any engine management systems.

chech coil wires to be shure that they were pluged back in well, check ground strap,check fuel pump pressure at fitting on fuel rail

Yeah, you can do this yourself. Drill out the rivets and unlpug the motor. Remove the motor and replace it with the neew one. Attach it with short fastners and nylon acorn nuts...pretty simple task. You don't have to remove anything else.
