Where is 2011 Buick Lucerne output and input speed sensor?

The output and input speed sensors on a 2011 Buick Lucerne are located on the transmission. The output speed sensor is located on the driver's side of the transmission, near the front of the vehicle. The input speed sensor is located on the passenger side of the transmission, near the rear of the vehicle.
To change the sensors, you will need to:
  1. Raise the vehicle: Use a jack to lift the front of the vehicle off the ground. Make sure the vehicle is secure and stable before working under it.
  2. Locate the sensors: Follow the transmission housing to the front and rear of the vehicle to find the output and input speed sensors.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors: Use a small pair of pliers to gently pull the electrical connectors off the sensors.
  4. Remove the sensors: Use a socket wrench to remove the mounting bolts that hold the sensors in place. Then, gently pull the sensors out of the transmission.
  5. Install the new sensors: Reverse the steps above to install the new sensors. Make sure the sensors are securely fastened and the electrical connectors are properly seated.
  6. Lower the vehicle: Carefully lower the vehicle back to the ground using the jack.
It is important to follow proper safety procedures when working on a vehicle. If you are not comfortable or experienced in automotive repairs, it is recommended to have a mechanic perform the sensor replacement.

My speedometer stop working what can i do to fix it

Causes...............

Faulty Vehicle Speed Sensor
- Vehicle speed sensor harness or connectors is open or shorted
- Vehicle speed sensor circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)

The P0500 code is very common on the Toyota Tacoma, Toyota Yaris, Toyota Camry, Toyota Tundra, Toyota RAV-4. Before replacing the sensor you should try cleaning the sensor gear and erasing the code. If the light comes back you may have to replace the sensor.

Where is the transmission intake speed sensor

the input speed sensor is pretty easy to find.

With the hood open and standing in front of the van you should see the transmission on the drivers side of the vehicle. look under the two transmission cooler lines that are connected to the transmission. You will see a two wire connector plugged into a light brown/cream colored sensor. That is the input speed sensor. Usually the lines need to be removed in order to replace it. A one inch socket or wrench will also be needed to loosen/tighten the sensor.

Eventually you will be asking about the output speed sensor. It looks exactly the same as the input. It is located to the right (drivers side) of the input speed sensor as you standing in front of the vehicle. It is usually easier to see/access/replace from under the vehicle.

My ford focus speedo only works sometimes

It sounds like your Vehicle Speed sensor is either faulty, or the wiring to the Vehicle Speed Sensor has a problem. Visually inspect the wiring to the Vehicle Speed Sensor, if no damage is found, replace the Vehicle Speed Sensor.

Speedometer is reading incorrectly. need to replace the speed sensor on the transmission or some where else.

Yes, I would start at the speed sensor on the transmission called the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor).

Also, are the tires the right size for the vehicle as indicated by the placard on the inside of the door?

The following is the example for some GMC Envoys (I had to guess on the engine size):

Vehicle Speed Sensor Removal & Installation To Remove:
  1. Disconnect the vehicle speed sensor connector. Vehicle speed sensor (A), Retaining bolt (B), O-ring (C) vsssensor.gif

  2. Detach the vehicle speed sensor from the transfer case.
  3. Remove the o-ring from the vehicle speed sensor.
To Install:
  1. Apply transmission fluid to the o-ring.
  2. Install the o-ring onto the vehicle speed sensor.
  3. Attach the vehicle speed sensor to the transfer case. Torque the bolt to 97 in-lb (11 Nm).
  4. Connect the vehicle speed sensor connector.

Speed sensor on 2000 ford f150 4x4 triton 4.6

if this helps, please rate as fixya. thanks.

Vehicle Speed Sensor The vehicle speed sensor (VSS) (Figure 43) is a variable reluctance or Hall-effect sensor that generates a waveform with a frequency that is proportional to the speed of the vehicle. If the vehicle is moving at a relatively low velocity, the sensor produces a signal with a low frequency. As the vehicle velocity increases, the sensor generates a signal with a higher frequency. The PCM uses the frequency signal generated by the VSS (and other inputs) to control such parameters as fuel injection, ignition control, transmission/transaxle shift scheduling and torque converter clutch scheduling.

For the 4R70W trans vehicles

Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS)

The vehicle speed sensor (VSS) is model dependent. Possible sources of vehicle speed input are, anti-lock brake sensor (ABS), a gear-driven vehicle speed sensor (VSS), or the transmission output shaft speed (OSS) sensor. On 4x4 applications with a manual shift transfer case, the transfer case speed sensor is the source of vehicle speed. The VSS signal is either an AC signal whose frequency changes with vehicle speed, or an SCP data message depending on the source. Some vehicles have both. The vehicle speed signal is an input to various vehicle sub-systems such as the powertrain control module (PCM), instrument cluster (speedometer and odometer), speed control systems, etc. The vehicle speed source must be operational to enter output state control mode for diagnostics.

If you have a 4R100 trans, it is different.
