Any mechanic can work on a ford ,Any properly trained mechanic can work on anything from a two stroke diesel commer to the latest porsche ,its the appliance of using basic motor vehicle technician praticies .So if you cannot find skilled men or women then blame the local technical college .Or do all youngsters want to be ambulance chasers and so called accident claims solicitors in your area or commonly known as leaches .

HI, sorry I am not closer, but the mechanics are very easy for any good mechanic, if you get a workshop manual from a UK Lotus specialist (sjsportscars). they do all parts mailorder the manual is very detailed, if you have a standard model, if you have the US high spec most race shops can tune the engine

First thing is to check the level of the power steering fluid. If you're low, add enough to bring it back into range. If not, remove the cap and jack the front end off the ground (both wheels). With the cap off, turn the wheel lock to lock, back and forth, several times, to see if any air bubbles need to be bled out (this will bleed them). Then check the fluid level again and top it off as needed.
If neither of these helps, have the steering system checked by a shop - you may have a problem with the steering shaft, the tie rods, or the rack itself.
I don't know the exact reason, but my dad had a problem similar to yours. He got a device from Ace Hardware (it was a decoding mechanism I believe) that you hook up to your car (on his car, which was an Oldsmobile, it was on the left interior of the driver's side door rite up by the steering wheel area) for only about $15-$20 because his engine light was always going off for no reason. Yours may have something to do with a faulty wire somewhere along where the alarm is, though. The decoder doesn't exactly let you know precisely what the problem is though (I believe it has a manual though), and my dad is a mechanic, so be careful before you try anything yourself, as you may do more harm than good.
