SOURCE: transmission slipping

do u have any transmission trouble codes? u should if the OD light is flashing, the light flashes to alert u that a electronic malfunction is occurring in the trans controls, u may just have a bad trans connector or a shift solenoid starting fail due to a shorted field closing coil.

check your idler, and tensioner pully's, i've seen a few trailblazers that whine and it turns out to be an idler pully, also check the power steering fluid and make sure its full in accordance with your owners manual

Manual transmission noise

It's most likely your throw-out bearing. It's located very inconveniently on the front shaft of the transmission and the way to remove and replace is to pull the tranny from the car... While you're at it, inspect the clutch and pressure plates and the pilot bushing (located in the center of the flywheel).

There is a high pitch whinning noise when i start my car and the battery light is on but very dim then it goes away after about 20 mins (1997 hyundai accent)

your belt is slipping on your alternator...either needs replaced or tightened. Or your pulley on the alternator is freezing up a little and making it hard to turn....making your belt slip then.

Your transmission is going to fail sooner or later, the whining noise you hear is the the clutch packs in the transmission going out.
