First, find the pitcock, turn it and drain antifreeze completely. Than turn screws loose on clamp and twist of hose on each end.
Put on new hose and fill up with new 50/50 coolant. Fill it with to top of radiator, start car with cap off, make sure to burp hose while pouring in new coolant.

I need to figure out the coolant flow direction on a 2001 lincoln continental.

What part of the cooling system is important to know about? The coolant is generally pulled from the bottom of the radiator, into the water pump, forced into the engine passages,up thru the thermostat,if hot enough, and back thru the big hose to the TOP of the radiator to drop as it cools again.
Meantime, even if the thermostat hasn't opened yet, the warm coolant is forced out the smaller heater hose near te thermostat, thru the heater core and is pulled back into the water pump thru the return heater hose. Did this help? don-ohio (:^)

How to remove a radiator 03 Mercury Mountaineer 4.0 engine V6 I checked the hoses they're good, but small drops of fluid is coming from the bottom of the radiator looking like it coming from the hose

What is the problem exactly?
If the radiator itself is not the source of the coolant leak why do you want to remove it from the vehicle?

You will certainly be able to locate the leak if it is from the radiator unit itself and in that event you will need to replace it.

If you have a leaking radiator hose or the hose is too loose on the bottom radiator neck then you replace the hose or tighten the hose clamp if it is the adjustable type.

If the radiator hoses connected to the radiator are the 2003 originals then they will definitely be well passed their use by date and should be replaced in any event.

How to fix my heater?

First check the heater hoses coming through the firewall from the engine are not leaking, damaged or blocked. make sure that the water is passing through these when you turn on the heater. My guess is that is that the hot water from the engine is not circulating through these pipes to the heater radiator inside the vehicle at the bottom center of the dash board console. Check to see if the cable connecting the heater control knob has not come loose and the check that there is no leak in that heater radiator by inspecting that the surrounding areas are not damp by the foot-wells. If so remove that radiator and send in to a radiator repair center to be repaired. if they cannot repair it then te heater radiator will have to be replaced.

I have a 1995 buick century. i want to flush radiator, but i couldn't located the draining valve. i need a help, if you can locate the draining valve for radiator.

Hi, if there is not a petcock or plug at the bottom of the radiator, you can just remove the lower radiator hose to drain the coolant. Many cars do not have drain plugs. Please let me know if you have more questions and thanks for using FixYa.

Cooling line from coolant tank to radiator is broken

thats easy to replace the line from resevoir to radiator. you can buy the hose at most part stores. most likely there are pressure clamps on each end of the hose. squeeze the clamp together with pliers to release and slide the clamps back. use te pliers to twist that hose around to loosen the hose at both ends. install the new hose the same way, just be sure to get those clamps back where they should be. hope this helps!!!

How to replace the radiator fluid

- Make sure the engine is cold and not running.
- Drain the radiator fluid by opening the drain plug at the bottom of the radiator or for a better/faster drainage and cleaning, carefully remove the bottom radiator hose by first loosening the hose clamp.
- Open the radiator cap and water rinse/flush the radiator core via a garden water hose until you no longer see any dirty water coming out of the bottom hose (or drain plug).
- Flush the radiator over flow (plastic) container by overfilling it with your garden water hose.
- remove garden water hose, carefully refit the bottom radiator hose, tighten the bottom radaitior hose clamp, refit/tighten the radiator drain plug.
- refill the radiator with approved radiator fluid for your climate and also refill the radiator overfow tank to the indicated level..
- Refit radiator cap
- Start your engine until it warms up and check for any water or steam leaks. Refit and or replace any faulty hoses or radiator (regulator) cap!
It is not difficult and have fun!

It lecks

One of three things has happened, in order of most to least likely:
1. Your lower radiator hose has burst and needs replaced. (Assuming your lower radiator hose is on the driver's side of the radiator on that vehicle)
2. Your radiator has been damaged and needs replaced
3. Your radiator drain **** is loose or missing (assuming it's on the drivers side of the radiator)

You will need to investigate closer to see where your issue lies. It should be easy to spot a damaged hose.

Good luck

2002 accord cooling fan

I would suggest to check the water thermostat located at the radiator itself, for your car it should be at the bottom like most other japanese cars. Try to replce it with a new one. And then check the fan relay at the fuse box in the engine compartment. If you can replace it much better. After these preliminary steps haved been taken and if it doesnt work I'll tell you the next step. You would also want to replace your water thermostat located at the inlet part of the engine where the radiator hose connects. Normally this would be the radiator hose on the top portion of the engine.
