Driver side power window will not go up

Remove the door panel & check it out
Could be a broken window regulator

I have a 98 328is and the driver side window is only working part of the time. It is like there is no power and then the next time you try it it works. The window motor sounds fine when it runs and there is no odd noises from the door. Where would the most likely problem be?

all of it is run through the drivers switch so I would say drivers switch is bad .

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM DIAGNOSE MOTOR OR SWICH MOSTLY BAD SWICH ,BUY ON LINE EASY TO CHANGE

check the drivers side switches for one thats shorted out.

Junk the stupid van and get something else

Now could be the fuse.

pull the control switch out n clean contacts or try and spay contact cleaner on them

ther is a green light and two button on the side of the drivers side door, these buttons control the window side mirror and seat memory. if you read the owners manual it will tell you how to set etch one. did you know that if you set the little buttons on the door right, when you put the car in reverse the side mirrors will look down so you can see the curb when parking the return to same position when you put it back in drive.

i had the same prob with my 01 elcipse. its a wiring problem in the door. i had to put the ground wire on another ground but i can only put it up from the dirver side and down from pass side of the pass window.
