On the way to work this morning I turned on the AC in my '99 Cherokee Sport and a mist emitted from the vents. Does anyone know what this means? Is it typical?
I appreciate the response. That would make sense considering it is quite humid in Alabama. Thanks!I appreciate the response. That would make sense considering it is quite humid in Alabama. Thanks!

It would seem that your a/c is working very well. You most likely live in an area that is high in humidity. When the cold air from your a/c hits the moisture saturated air from the environment it turns the moisture to fog "condensation" . That is most likely your mist. Hope this helps. Good luck.

If the alarm goes off, it its because it was armed in the first place. You mist disarm it before entering the vehicle. To disarm it push the remote control unlock button or open eithe front door or liftgate using the key in the keylock.
So that you get a little confidence in what you are going to attempt, please go to your auto supply store and get a copy of the Haynes '99 Jeep Cherokee service manual. It has everything in it to help you. Don't panic...take it slow!
DO NOT USE STOP LEAK!!!!!! That stuff has no brain so you cant tell it to plug only specific leaks. It will go for the easiest hole to plug which can be a water port in the cooling jacket for the cyl heads. replace the heater core. Fix it right or bypass but please please please do not use anything that will stop a leak
It sounds like the heater core is
leaking engine coolant into the passengers side compartment.White mist could be steam from the hot coolant?
The Heater fan could be damaged, or it is a short. Fill your radiator and take
it to the shop or replace the heater core.
Seems to be a chronic problem with crank position sensors... On yours it is tested between b&c terminals and should have no continuity there. (should show an open circuit if good)
Water on the floor indicates a heater core leak. You may also find a mist coming from the inside of the car when you run the heat and or AC. If this is the case, have your heater core checked out. Best of luck.
