When VDC light is on, it means Vehicle Dynamic Control is engaged and it puts resistant on wheels to reduce slipping.
This is the reason to cause slow acceleration. If you have OBD reader, you may find out why VDC is on; otherwise, ask someone has experience on mechanic for consulting.
VDC issue needs to be resolved or you will consume more gas and wear the car faster.
Possible tranny problem. If your linkage from shifter to tranny is adjusted properly and your shifter gear needle is right on the PRND21 then it is likely your transmision
did you just get the vehicle? was it sitting in some wet weather? could be the break pads and shoes have "frozen" to the rotors or drums. does it seems like it wants to move but when you press the accelerator it wont?
Well for one, make sure you speed up slowly, dont HIT the accelerator. It may also be problems with your fuel filter. After you are stoped fuel stops running through the fuel pump/filter and then when you start going its starts to run through again and it cant keep up so it gets bubbles in it and doesnt move throught the filter easily hence the jerky accelerating. check throttle position sensor wire chewed up, broken wire or unplugged? check with volt meter mesure the voltage @ throttle positon sensor see if there's voltage goes up/down when u apply/release gas.
