I HAVE A 2005 CADILLAC CTS THAT WAS RUNNING PERFECT BUT ON THE DISH BOARD A SIGN OF A CAR AND LOCK PIC WAS ON. ONE DAY I GOT IN THE CAR TO START IT AND NOW IT WON'T START JUST KEEP MAKING A CLICKING SOUND..MY CAR BEEN IN THE SHOP 5 DAYS AND THEY STILL CANT FIND OUT THE PROBLEM... AND IT HAVE A NON FACTORY ALARM SYSTEM ON THERE THAT NEVER LOCKED OR UNLOCKED THE DOORS

i had a 2003 ctc that did the same thing, it wouldn't start or would make a clicking sound and about 1 mth after the problem started aND mechanics could not find a problem my car caught on fire and burned completely from something under the right side of the hood. i had just parked the car and got out, it happened really fast. the fire chief said the cause was unknown????

now i have a 2004 cts and i'm having the same problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! has anyone else had this happen???? please be cautious if your cts is doing this, during the fire my doors locked and had to be pried into by fire chief.

To get the key out; look under the steering wheel for a plastic flat head screw. untwist it and then push the spring in and your key will be free. Then, go to your fuse box and remove the main fuses and you will hear the doors unlock when the system reset itself. Plug them back in and start your car. This just happened to me... seems the only things that were working were the navigation screen, headlights, fog lights, and reading light on the inside. Dash board was all dark except the engine light.
