Replaced thermostat and flushed cooling system in my 93 Ford Ranger w/2.3L and still runs cold and heater doesn\'t warm up enough. Is it possible that the temp sending unit is bad AND a clogged heater core?
Ranger heater cores don't clog, they tend to start seeping, to that coolant codensation enters ducts. Test by defost setting and look for foggin up and odor. Also chech input and houtput hoses at firewall. Should start out onehot , one cold but gradually hot and wam then hot and hot as flued continues from block, thru coil, and back to pump. Most typically cold heater output is due to too low lever of coolant in (too deep air space in) top of engine block where fluid is tapped off to cabing heater core. If the t'stat is stuck open that will delay heat up of the coil bacause the coolant is going to radiator cant find its way to the heater outlet port. If the heater sensor to dash gauge were faulty that would most likely mean that no cooling system fault; but in your case, the cabin heater fault eliminates the sender as a possible faiure.
Any chance you got an air bubble in the system? Try loosing the return hose from the heater and make sure your getting fluid through the heater core.

Double checking, does fun shut off when switched to heat instead of defrost?
SOURCE: heater blows cold air. I have replaced thermostat,
Not an expert by any means, but i know my ranger.. I had a small leak at the top of my radiator that still cooled the engine but didnt have enough pressure to get to the heater. The heater hoses travel up over the engine and just were not gettin anything to my heater core. That or make sure the heater control valve is operating.

you could try checking your wiring from inside the car, maby is snapped or come off.
