run the fault codes as misfire can be from injectors , low fuel pressure and ignition problems
all temp gauges will show a rise on stopping an engine as there is still residual heat in the block and heads with no water circulation and cooling
the fire from the exhaust indicates an exhaust valve is not closing properly so a compression test would be in order to check for valve problems or hydraulic follower problems
The backfiring can occur because the car isn't shut off properly. Remember when we were kids and we would shut off, coast in gear and then restart and pop the accumulated gases? That said I think your anti-jack may be switching randomly and shutting you down. I'd start there.
This is normally a sign of a leaking exhaust valve, it is too tight. the popping is unburned fuel leaking into the exhaust and then exploding with the exhaust from the next firing, sorry but a big job

Possible partially plugged catalytic converter? The pop may be unburned fuel igniting. I would want to check the exhaust manifold pressure. Have a helper hit the gas pedal and back off several times and feel the exhaust flow, if it doesn't seem to increase in relation to the engine speed increases, and/or it gets extremely hot, compared to a normally running car.that is a good indicator of a plugged cat.
If you also get a pop, especially if it includes a burst of exhaust as, that is an additional indicator.
Generally when a PCM fuse pops it means either the wire to the PCM is shorted or the PCM itself has a short in it. If this is a short in the fuel system its most likey the connector or the pump itself.
check your convertor to make sure it isnt clogged internally the cone in the convertor on that models tends to either cover over with age or melt and not allowing exhaust gas release through the exhaust system which in turn will keep compression in the cylinder head not allowing the engine to fire and run it's like putting a HUGE cork in each exhaust port
Sounds like your timing belt popped. Hope you didn't mess up the motor when it went. May have bent some valves. Has it been awhile since it was replaced? Check it first.
Not sure if engine coolant smells like rotten egs when it burns inside the cylinders , but it sounds like you may have blown a head gasket. Coolant and/or oil could be getting inside combustion chamber. Another possibility is that the catyletic converter might have broken up and colapsed onto the screen where it goes into the exhaust. Might give the rotten egg smell and block the exhaust enough to cause backpressure sufficient to cause the engine to run poorly too.
Try putting your palm over the exhaust pipe , if the exhaust is coming out in pulses (pop ,pop,pop) thats normal , if it is just slowly flowing out with no noticable pulses , I would check into the cat converter problem.
