Need to remove center of dashboard to get to radio on 2002 escape

Changing the radio is very easy on the spectra, but remember to be careful when removing the front panel which is quite large. start by removing the 2 screws from the panel over the steering wheel touching the speedometer cluster. Before pulling the panel when the screws are off (it goes from the left of the steering wheel to the a/c panel corner) make sure all screws are off and that it wiggles a bit, which means that only plastic/metal clips are holding the panel in place. After that just pull it off (make sure you disconnect all electric connection cables on the panel buttons). you might have to shift the car from parking all the way down so that you can remove the plastic easily.
