Out of time. get piston num. 1 to top dead center on compression stroke then make your rotor on dist. point to #1 and it should fire up. you may have to then turn the dist. some to get in in specs.

Try using a good fuel line/injector cleaner Seafoam is a good one. If this does not help you may have tone or more clogged injectors. Clean these out and you should be good to go. tTo see Seafoam in action goto you tube type Seafoam into the search box.

SOURCE: Where is the fuel regulator located on a 1988 tbi

No, low fuel pressure is caused by a weak fuel pump.
High fuel pressure is caused by a faulty fuel regulator.

SOURCE: 90 chevy k1500 350 tbi fuel problem starts but wont stay running

try bypassing the oil pressure switch on the back of the block behind the distributor, if there oil pressure switch goes bad it will do this. had one that drove me nuts trying to fix it then figured out I had to buy a book and low and behold thee it was 3 wire oil pressure switch you can't see between the engine and fire wall just behind the distributor and costs 8 bucks to buy new.

1988 2.5E s10 no fuel

you mean, cranks ok, but will not start and no fuel , right>?
s10 no fuel. 1988 ( S10 blazer )
please do say , what that means.
1: car cranks and will not start. so must be out of fuel?
(over 50 causes, or better is 10 or less tests (ask)
2: same, and fuel pressure is 0 psi (spec.9-13). gauged.?
3: fuel dribble test?
4: sparks good so tired test fuel and it ran on test fuel ok? proving
loss of fueling>?
5: injector dead cranking, (eyeballs)

which was it?

1988 cars in the USA are BIG TIME TRANSITION year.
we went from CARBS to EFI.
2.5L (what is E)?
gear cam, roller HLA lifters.
your car, USA , is TBI engine,
TBI started on THIS car in 1985 (1/2 and 1/2)
Throttle body injection
an on all TBI engines, one can see it inject with eyes.
does it?
if not it can be the following things.
1: no fuel pressure, 9-13pis.
2: ECU is cutting fuel. Pressure good cranking.
2a: ECU is sending error for bad crank/cam sensors, and cuts fuel.
2b: ECU sees rpm or tacho line dead.
2c. ECU sees TPS sensor output as 4v or more cranking, this cuts all fuel.
3: if ECU is happy, it sends 12vcd to the pump, cranking.
all tests must be dont cranking or chase tail.

1988 C1500 start and run great until accelerate at road speed. Told that fuel pump could be bad. Changed fule pump and now no pumping at all. pump buzzes but no fuel at all. Loosened connection and...

Look for a cap on the fuel rail to purge air. Under cap will look like a tire valve, with fuel pump running depress center pin to bleed out air. If no fuel CK for plugged fuel filter.

Have 1988 tbi chevy 350 pulled the distributor out only to find out the marks are gone, now what?

Retime it. Put #1 cylinder at TDC of compression stroke. Pull number one spark plug: with finger over hole turn the crank with a socket and feel for the pressure buildup as engine turns. When you feel pressure, that means number one piston is rising on it's compression stroke. Now turn the crank on around until it is lining up the zero mark on the pointer scale. TDC of compression stroke.
Now put the distributor in so that the rotor when installed is pointing to the number one spark plug tower. Distributor shaft will turn slightly as it is installed, so start with shaft and rotor turned a bit back, so when slides into position, rotor is pointing directly to #1 plug tower. Keep playing with it until you get it right.
Good luck.

90 chevy 350 tbi crank no start, truck was started driven around the block parked it and let it idle a few minutes before shuting it off, the next day it would not start, it acts like timing is off and is...

You first need to check the fuel pressure, an easy way to access this is to buy a can of spray starting fluid, spray it into the TBI throttle valve and if the truck starts and dies you have no fuel pressure. Replace the fuel; pump, and make sure you get the right pump, it is a low pressure system.

Fuel pump runs when you turn on the key, but doesn't supply fuel to the tbi when you crank the engine. I checked the distributor for excess play and it is tight. it is not throwing any fault codes

you can use wd40 and spray it into the intake and see if it fires, then you will need to find out if it a clogged line, fuel filter or fuel pump. Hope this helps Tim

My 2001 chevy silverado is having trouble starting i changed the fule filter and i can hear my fule pump runing but it takes right at 3 cranks for it to start.. It would try to start but just die on me......

Sounds like it. On new automobiles the fuel pump is in the gas tank, cools the pump, but you can disconnect the pump and put on an outside pump instead of pulling the gas tank and replacing gas pump and tank. Leave old pump in gas tank.

Engine cranks excessively before engine starts, even after warmed

Check your EGR valve make sure that is working properly, if it is then go to the fuel pump, just a cheaper fix to go after the EGR then the fuel pump
