Question about 1998 Chrysler Cirrus
Key is trapped, ignition will not turn to lock position, odo trip and gear position indicator lights stay on runs the battery down.
Could be the ignition lock or switch, but it could be the shifter too.
If the shifter is not completely in park, the key will not go to the lock position.

The keys have security codes in them. If the key does not match the one the vehicle is looking for it won't start. You need to take the key and vehicle to a dealer to be reprogramed. Or if you just bought a key and have the old one, take the two keys to a dealer so the old key code can be copied to the new one.
