youre going to torque it to 65 ft lbs.. start from the centre out and go diagonally. be sure to replace the head bolts and very lightly oil them before installation.

2004 kia Rio I need to know torque specs and sequence take it off and on


torque of head bolts with alloy head will be approx 65lbs ,the correct way is tighten to so many nm then 50?back then so many up ,forget it they do not do this on the assembly line its one big machine that tightens them all up at once .

I need to find the torque specs for the connecting piston rod? also the sequence and torque for the cylinder head bolts this is for a kia rio 2004 6cyl


22 - 24 ft. lbs. for the rod caps and....
110795143Cylinder Head Tightening Torque and Sequence.

Tighten cylinder head bolts in order shown.
Tightening torque: 36.1 ft. lbs. (49 Nm, 5 kg-m)

Loosen bolts in reverse of order shown.

Retighten cylinder head bolts in order shown.
Tightening torque: 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm, 2.5 kg-m)

Mark cylinder head bolts for rotational reference.
Rotate cylinder head bolts 90°(1/4 Turn) in order shown.

CAUTION:
  • Do not reuse the old cylinder head bolts.

hi this is no problem it is 93nm, leave for 10 minuets then tighten to 103nm hope this helps please vote thanks

your post has gone un answered for 2 years. i just stareted last week . as a fellow rio owner im determind to help as many as i can .there are over 5000. un answered kia posts.if you still need help re- post . with any new info. 03 rio's are blue booked at $500
