1997 Nissan Pathfinder Jolting and car turns off + oil leak

I have a 6 cylinder automatic Nissan Pathfinder with an oil leak. The burning oil is coming into the cabin. The air conditioning unit will not turn off so the smell of burning oil is constantly in the cabin of the car. There is quite a bit of oil sludge built up and the undercarriage has oil all over the bottom of different parts. Last night the car bean making jolting sounds as though it didn't want to shift around 2000 RPMs, and then it lost power. When I went to crank the car again it struggled to crank. I drove it a short distance and lost power again. SO I continued to drive it home and tried keeping it below 2000 RPMs on the way home it jolted a few times while driving home and I stopped at a as station wondering if there was sufficient oil in the car. The oil was changed about 2 weeks ago. When I recranked the car at the gas station it struggled to crank and then in reverse the car was sputtering and jlting and lost power again, So I started it again and went forward with some more jolting but was able to make it home. The car has about 190,000 miles. I have replaced the timing belt, the alternator and starter/solenoid has been replaced, it also has a new battery. This morning the car started without problems. I am just wondering if this is my transmission or something else.

I change my calipers and break pads on both front wheels of my 97 nissan pathfinder bleed all 4 wheels after a few second I stroke peddle and it went all the way down to the firewall . Need help

Could be your brake master cylinder not building hydraulic pressure. If the internal seals are bad, the fluid leaks back internally, preventing pressure to build up in the lines to the wheels. If you have no leaks and you bled all wheels properly, it is probably the master cylinder.

Why 1987 Nissan v-6 se4x4 truck leaks all the oil no drips on pavement is it the rear main seal??

If you are losing oil, but do not see any leaks or evidence of drips on the ground underneath the vehicle, then that means that the oil is burning in the cylinders due to excessive piston ring wear. Replacement of piston rings is a big job, and should be performed by a certified engine rebuild shop or your Nissan dealership's service department.

My 2004 nissan pathfinder is burning oil. only 100,000 km. what could the problem be?

Its either leaking or burning it---look for any signs of oil in the cooling system or water in the oil---could be a gasket going bad somewhere.

if a leak it has to with that much oil loss show somewhere.

I would if you cannot locate it act quickly and have a mechanic look at it before it becomes major or fatal issue.

Theres a smell of gear oil in the cab when driving. What could it be?

(1) motor oil only smells when its being burned.
(2) the output of the air ducts is in front of the gear shift area.
So, I'm thinking that you have an oil leak in the engine compartment (which may be dripping onto the exhaust system), and the oil has found a hot part of the engine/exhaust, and the smell of heated oil is wafting through the cabin air filter into the passenger compartment through the air ducts in the middle of the dash to just above the gear shift area.
If my theory is correct, you should be able to re-route the burned oil odor by changing the setting of your air ducts by changing the setting from its current setting to a "defrost-type" setting, wherein air entering the passenger compartment comes from the ducts below the windshield, rather then entering through the openings at the center of the console.
Ultimately, your fix will be to locate and resolve the oil leak.

Here's your list of possible culprits for the 1997 Nissan Pathfinder

Priority Action Part Type Cause
1 Inspect - Valve Cover Gasket -- Valve Cover Gasket Leaking Oil.
2 Inspect - Oil Filler Cap -- Oil Filler Cap Damaged or Missing.
3 Inspect - PCV Valve -- Plugged or Damaged PCV Valve.
4 Inspect - Oil Pan Gasket -- Leaking Oil Pan Gasket.
5 Inspect - Head Gasket -- Leaking Head Gasket.
6 Inspect - Oil Pump - divided O-ring or Oil Pump Gasket

If the odor really is gear oil (aka transmission fluid) and not motor oil, then there's a leak coming from the automatic transmission/manual transaxle.
Look under the transmission after the car has been parked awhile, and look for a reddish oil spot/blot/pool. transmission fluid is dyed red just for the purpose of differentiation from other automotive lubricants. You can assist the process of color differentiation by putting newspaper under the vehicle once it's been parked for the night.
Placing enough newspaper may also keep your Pathfinder from depositing a nearly-impossible-to-remove oil stain onto your garage floor overnight.
If you already have an oil stain on the floor, try a spray can of engine degreaser first. Citrus degreaser next.
