Question about Jeep Cars & Trucks
Tow package electrical problem. I also have had trouble with the alarm system going off randomly so in order to fix that, I removed the fuse from the fuse box on the passenger lower kick panel. Could the electrical problem with the tow package be tied to the alarm?
Sure, why not look that up in the FSM.?
why not say which function fails.
park, turns, brake? backup (all 4?) (check ground #5)
after market wire job or factory tow package?
we cant guess any of that.
you can see all the orig. wiring here.
ZJ, click that and 8w wiring chapter.
and see it all, every inch of wire in car."STOCK"
stock means, as it left the factory Day 1.
I looked and didnt see a tow option in the FSM. 1998.
but didnt read every page.

I had the same problem. There’s a wire harness and plug that
go thru a flexible boot between the body and the front doors to control the switch
clusters on the doors.
Over time opening the doors will affect these components.

If this is a factory light harness for the trailer hookup on your Caravan. Look under the hood for a fuse box. Many 2000+ vehicles have this with separate fuses just for the trailer lights.

try replacing the sockets in the tailights/brake lights. worked for me. $10 each. i had to replace all of mine because just replacing the brake sockets didn't solve the problem on the right side. you can test it by exchanging tail light for brake light socket and if that works you know it is the socket
