REDBEAR IS RIGHT, IT COULD BE ANYTHING. IF THE REAR WHEELS DON'T LINE UP WITH THE FRONT ONES, THEN IN AUTOMOTIVE TERMINOLOGY WE SAY THE "TRACKING IS OFF". THIS WILL MAKE THE REAR END UNSTABLE. THE COLLISION SHOP SHOULD BE ASHAMED TO CALL IT FIXED. IF THE SUB-FRAME IS BENT, THEN THE INSURANCE COMPANY SHOULD TOTAL THE CAR. LET THEM KNOW THAT YOU ARE NOT SATISFIED WITH THE REPAIRS AND ARE SEEKING LEGAL ADVICE. THEY WILL DO THE RIGHT THING I AM SURE. HOPE THIS HELPS. GIVE EM HELL. THANKS FOR AN HONEST RATING AND FOR USING FIX-YA.

if you google "grand vitara vibration" you will find a discussion board about the many many grand vitaras getting around with a vibration problem. I happen to be one of these people and am seriously thinking of selling the car after all the problems I have. It appears to be a drive train design fault which will cost a fortune to fix, believe me its not a tyre problem, ive had 4 wheel alignlents and balances and it never seems to fix the problem.Take it to a mechanic and let them have a good look at it.

if this problem only happens when the eco light is on, then you prob have a bad rear engine mount. these vans have active front and rear engine mounts. when the engine is in VCM mode(operating on 3cyl) the front and rear engine mounts control the engine vibrations. when the rear one goes bad it connot control the engine vibrations. the rear mount can be visually inspected for failure(if its resting on itself), or on a test drive with the active noise control turned off. or engine brake torquing.
