Question about 1996 Chevrolet Blazer
My tail lights and everything else but my third brake light work, I tested to see if the fixture needed to be replaced with a voltage meter but its not getting any power, any ideas where I would look next to fix this problem?
If it has bulb replace it.

Testimonial: "I tested the wires to see if they had power, even with a new bulb/fixture it won't help without power, all my lights work but the 3rd brake light, it has to be in the wiring somewhere but im not sure where to look for that sort of thing."
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

When my blazer did this they had to replace part of the wiring harness in the steering wheel. It took forever for them to get the parts because we live in nowhereville, but once it was in it works again and no problems. I had to take it to the actual chevy dealer because none of the other places had a clue. good luck.

I had a similar problem and when i went to the auto electric place the guy said its a brake switch next to the brake pedal which is not working. He took it out and fixed it. Now its all fine.

The chevys with red brake lights and turn signals do two things and I've fixeds alot of them. Looking at the tail lights with the hazard flashers on. both sides flash with nothingeles on? Or are the hazards yellow? if they're red and the third eye does work the turn signal switch is possible problem but it doesn't let the blubs and the circuit boards in the taillights out as they can fail and do some really bad stories the wires for the brakes and the turns and the hazards are the same ones and if the turns look right and the hazards look right then the turn signal switch transmites the turn too as this doesn't work part of your story can't be true

More likely it is the hazard/turnsignal/highbeam/cruise control switch module. It costs about $275 for the module. However there is a repair kit for the likely culprit...the hazard button. Try jiggling it around a little, see if that helps. Spray a little WD-40 into it so it can jostle back into it's correct position. You could try a junkyard unit or Ebay. It's not too hard to change. The hard part is doing it without removing the steering wheel. It can be done. I've done it. But hopefully you can locate the repair kit which costs about 15 dollars. Good luck.
