I'm not sure where' the screws are but basically You need to remove the panel on the rear door, then once the panel (interior trim) has been removed you should see a lock mechanism which will be screwed/bolted in place. Easier and cheaper then buying a brand new lock mechanism (unless you want to buy brand new) is going to a wreckers and finding your car model and get it that way (yes it's used but it'll probably save you tons of money vs the dealership) Best Regards.

Throttle cable could be binding inside the housing that attached to the throttle body. Also the throttle positioning sensor could be faulty as well.

SOURCE: Rear door wont unlock or sometimes wont lock

The rear door lock actuator needs to be replaced. If you have the dealer do it you will pay $300.00+. If you do it, you can do it in an hour for about $20.00. Just buy a universal actuator kit that looks similar to the one already in there from the factory. Do A Google Search on "Mazda Tribute Rear Door Lock Actuator" to find sources for them.

This is a VERY common problem on Ford Escapes and Mazda Tributes, all years. I am surprised there has not been a recall on this.

The battery is dead on our 04 tribute. The remote doesn't work and the key won't unlock the door. How do we open the door or the hood

if it was me i would get a battery then you can use the remot to open the door, not sure why the key will not open the door, except that you might tried to open it with a coat hanger, the rod that is attached to the lock should open it with the key.

The door light on my mazda tribute 2002 it will not turn off i tried closing all the doors but it did not work what can i do

If you can find the switch in the doors, you can open 1 door at a time and activate the switch by hand. If the light goes out, check the next door switch. If the light does not go off, replace that switch. If neither switch has any effect, then you have a short in the wiring.

Try spraying latch assembly liberally with WD-40 or similar product and silicone to prevent freezing

If that doesnt help replace the latch.

Front doors will not open from outside.

take a pitcher of hot wtaer out to one of the doors and pour the hot water starting at the top of the door and you should be able to open the door , now if the key lock is frozen use a lighter and heat the key up first then put the key in the lock and turn the key to unlock the door
