SOURCE: What is the firing order and distributor cap order
There is no distributor cap on the 3.1L. The firing order is wrote on the coil packs and the front cylinder between the radiator and engine is #1 cylinder.

This is a one piece distributor. It has the coil and pickup sensor all built in. Check and see if you have 12 volts on the large red wire that plugs into the cap while the key is on. (The other wire is for a tachometer if you have one). If you have power and there is no spark from your ignition wires, your pickup module is bad in the distributer. Very rarely have I seen a failed coil.
Testimonial: "Great advise, will let you know if we get it running!!! Thank you sooooo much!!!"
