SOURCE: power steering pump

There is a problem here which is not for the novice repair man. Get to a mechanic and sort this. You risk loosing power steering at speed, for say on the motorway and that could possibly kill you. Your first try failed - leave it to the pros!

try some power steering leak stop first if this doesn't work try going around to all the hose connections and tightening them to torque spec if it still leaks you will need a pump, before paying for a pricey repair have a UV leak detection test done first

SOURCE: 2003 Ford Escape leaking red fluid

Sounds like you need a new power steering hose. To verify this, I would dry up any wet areas on the hose and pump with a towel, get a flashlight and start the vehicle and try to determine the exact site of the leak which is usually at the ends of the hoses. Good luck!

Have oil leaking around the belts and in back of the motor on that side of my 1990 camry..how do I find where the leak is and how do I fix it?

The leak at the fire wall, do you see it coming from up high on your engine or just see it at the bottom dripping off? I would think in that area an oil pan gasket leak sounds like the usual suspect. Can't think of what would be leaking higher up unless its the block which u probably wouldn't want to think bout. The leak round your belts, where exactly is that coming from? Are you sure it's oil and not power steering fluid? the power steering pumps hose could be leaking and throwing fluid up on the pulleys while they are spinning. I'd make sure that isn't the case here. Hope I could help. I'd need more direct location of where fluid is coming from to help more accurately.

Really loud growling noise and vibrations through the whole car when it is started and then gets louder when you try to turn. plus the more you turn the harder it gets to turn.

check your power steering fluid under the hood, sounds like your problem. make sure not to over fill it. look under the front of car after you've filled it up for leaks onto ground. you may have a bad steering hose. hope this helps and thank you for choosing fixya.com

Had an oil leak on drivers side of engine,

Most likely have oil in alternator .....have it tested ...if you have never taken one apart i suggest you buy a new one ...but test it first ....clean the area with brake cleaner around where the oil leak was all over and wipe down access ...good luck ...but do not put it in the alternator ..you could cause a fire ...

My power steering pump makes a growling noise even when the car is idle. The noise is louder when I turn the steering wheel. The power steering fluid has gotten low a couple of times and gets foamy.

if gets low definitely a leak foam is pump mixing fluid with air roar is pump cavitation check lines or pump for leak keep fluid at recommended level air bound unit can cause steering difficulty and or failure if need have trained mech look into problem

1997 Honda civic, fan belt?

It sounds like your power steering pump, not the belt. Have u checked the fluid level? If it's low it can make a 'growling' type noise. Any leaks under the car from power steering? U can check by putting a big piece of cardboard under the car at night, check where any leaks show up on it the next morning.
ålso check the belt for fraying or cracks (if u find any, replace it), also the belt tension, if it's loose, the belt may squeal (not what u describe),

2004 town & country steering shaft seal

Check the power steering fluid level. What you describe could be the noise made when fluid level is low. It's not good for the pump, so if that's the problem, fill to proper level, check for leaks, as it shouldn't be losing fluid. countrycurt0
