Why not pull the 2 hoses, on engine side.
and back flush it now.
if its not clogged, , the damper is stuck closed
i use my IR pyro gun ($15) to measure the 2 hoses.
on heat high.
is same ,its good, if one is very low, bad
or if a skilled mech, just use fingers to feel the hose.
ahhhh both are at 180F, and id bet the core is too.
if the water dont flow, one will be way cooler.

How do I repair a clogged heater core?

Depends on how clogged and what's clogging it. If only lightly clogged, then radiator flush product used with the heater turned on may do it.
If badly clogged, and clogged with something that is hard to remove, you may be looking at core replacement.

2003 mercury sable blows cool air when heater is turned on.

Most likely it is a clogged heater core. Have your heater core reverse flushed or your blend door is stuck open.

Flush heater core on 2000 grand cherokee

If it's clogged it can be cleared with the use of Garden hose pump. The water has to be turn into the heater hose line and then water has to be removed out via the pump.

My 1990 Jeep Cherokee's engin temperature guage wont go above the minimum temperature unless it has been driving for about 30 minutes and even after it starts to slightly raise above that, i am still not...

your heater core may be clogged up. The temp of the inlet hose should be about the same as the outlet hose-under the hood. If one is signifcantly more hot then suspect a clogged heater core. You can try to back flush the heater core. Remove the heater hoses at the engine side- not the heater core side because the hose fittings are fragile. You want to blow through the hose that was cooler to the touch with light compressed air or water pressure. be sure to bleed air out of system. If water flowed freely through the heater core then you may have an issue with the blend door on your heater box, or heater control. Do not blow up the heater core! keep pressure below the psi rating of the radiator cap.

The slow acting of the temp gauge may indicate air in the cooling system. run the engine, heater on, with the radiator cap off to vent the system, doing this on an upsloped driveway will aid in venting the air.

Heater core is clogged, not hot heat coming out.

you can try to flush it out by removing both heater hose going into the core and coming from the core. Hook a garden hose to the hose going in and then try flushing the hose going out. Normally once a heater core is clogged there is only the option of replacing it.

Heater blows cold air.

heater cores clog in taurus. way to know is this--engine fully hot--heat on reach down to the fire wall and grab hold of one of the heater hoses where it hooks to the core--one should be real hard to keep hold of because its that hot. If the other is close to the same the core is not clogged. But if the other is cold to the touch its clogged. You can remove the hoses and shoot garden hose water in one side or the other and break it loose usually
