Will the P0128 fault code stop my remote start from working?

I seriously doubt it.
Code 128 is a problem with the engine thermostat. Usually the thermostat is not closing so that the engine can warm up.

We have a 2009 Freightliner Columbia that keeps giving fault code "ecu 128 51d 153". Any ideas on what this is?

not in my range of expertise as commercial vehicle but there should also be a FMI code number to go with the fault code , follow link to the freightliner web site where you can download owner manuals etc that may give you more info on your problem also a freightliner forum would be a good source of info , keep me posted if you wish

These code are specific to Volvo and you will probably need to contact a Volvo service department to have them explained.

Fault code PO128

Code 128 is telling you the engine temp is below the thermostat rating. Usually means the thermostat is stuck open and not making the engine warm up.
