Question about Mercedes-Benz Cars & Trucks
My "oil hi" light is randomly coming on. I got my oil changed about 2500 miles ago and Jiffy Lube so I would think that if the oil was too high that the light would have come on long ago. Also, the day after the oil hi light started coming on, my ml350 started making a "whirring" noise that occurs at lower speeds like 25 mph or less while I am either accelerating or decelerating. Sometimes it is louder than other times. Do you think these are related? And what could be the problem?

Sounds like a bad torque converter. When the torque converter is engaged, it's not "whirring" it's on decel or freewheel that it "whirs".Did you check fluid level and color?

time to add some oil
they likely used 10/30
add a litre of 80w90 it will thicken the curent oil and should stop the noise
it is likely you will need thiswith all your future oil changes high nilage motors make noise and require thicker lubrication

When they changed the oil they did not reset the light. The car needs to be told when the oil is changed.
when the warning comes on press the setup button. it should say press reset if new. Press the reset button. It should say if new oil hold reset. Press and hold the reset button until the display changes to oil life set to 100%.

SOURCE: 2000 Chrysler 300M V6 with 150k miles started giving a clacking noise from the engine area after getting an oil change from Jiffy Lube. I was less than 2 miles from their shop when it started clackin
Sounds like your valve lifters. It's possible that they drained the oil and never refilled it. This does happen when they go on break or lunch half way through a job. They think they added the oil, but did not. Out you go, Mr. Clack-Clack.
