Question about Mazda Cars & Trucks
Crank but no start.....A real curly one. Fuel pump and filter replaced ran fine one week. Fuel relay suspicious was changed started and ran twice, now not being turned on by comp. Then i was called in (auto electrician). I have 1999 ford courier with same motor so this problem should have been solved easily. This is the list of things swapped then swapped back to no avail. Coil. Amplifier/ switches on coil plate King lead Dizzy cpu Maf (shouldn't effect spark on start). Computer failing to turn on fuel pump relay These items were then fitted to my ute and ran fine. Things I have also checked. Fuses Fusible link Injector pulse (none there) Bypassed fuel filter. Cleaned plug to dizzy. Visually checked over entire engine bay harness There is fuel pressure. Bypassed fuel pump relay temporarily Bypassed other relay in engine bay. Removed gps tracker did not interfere with other circuits only tapped off B+ and ign. Checked leads no short to ground. Visually checked over rear harness to fuel pump. What am I missing

Pull one or two sparkplugs and check them for moisture; not fuel, but for water beads.
I don't know how long your engine ran after losing coolant but there is a chance that you lost the head gasket and have gotten water into the cylinders.

Hi, sorry you've been thru a lot I guess the past couple of days. I cannot read what the other experts told you. Do you know if the ASD relay is coming on? If not, pull it out, turn the key on, and push it back in. If it clicks when you push it in, it is working. If not, I recommend you interrogate the relay socket to see why it is not getting a signal. I can provide instructions to interrogate. Do you have a 12 volt test light or voltmeter?

The absence of spark or HT on the spark plugs is due to a failed IGNITION SYSTEM. Now this can be traced very easily. All you need is a 12 Volt park lamp, or a multimeter to check the voltage on the HT coil. you need 12 volt on the + side when the igntion is switched. if not check the fuse. Now on the other side of the coil you must have the voltage grounded ( switched by the igntion system) to produce the spark. If there is no spark the HT coil is a suspect. If not the ignition system is not switching and must be checked. failure of the electronic unit can be the reason , or lack of pulses from the pick up can be the other reason . You must be able to easily find this out by simulating the device to confirm, (feed a pulse) .
