A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I would make sure the fluid maintenance is done. The most likely cause is the transmission or transfer case is gone internally.
I would take the vehicle to the transmission shop.

Go to Auto Zone and ask the to run a diagnostic with their OBD-11 computer. This may still be a free service. Write down the error code/codes displayed. This should help pinpoint the correct sensor.

It is telling you that is a serious fault detected in the engine or Transmission and the car has gone to into a protected mode of operation so you can get to a repair shop. You could stop by an Auto Zone or Advance Auto store and ask them to read the fault code for you and that will give you a better idea of where and what the problem is that caused this to happen.

Yes, first check the battery and alternator. When you removed and reinserted the fuse, something related to battery ,alternator and throttle body got shorted.and this error displayed.-------
The error ,message displayed " gearbox fault, parkbreak fault and restricted performance"
This error is related to battery, alternator and throttle body problems.-------
So first test your battery, there should be 12 volts with ignition on., then check alternator,m there should be 13.2 to 14 or above volts with ignition key on.-------
If battery and alternator both checked ok and there connections checked ok, then check the throttle body.-----------------------
check the four and two wire plugs at the throttle body to make sure the plug and the prongs on the sensor are not dirty and are connected properly, and the clips are not broken. IF that checks out, check the wiring on the loom that crosses right behind the articulation joint to make sure it hasn't rubbed through. Otherwise your going to have to cut the loom open and fix the wiring. If all of that fails, then the car needs a new throttle body. ---------------- If all of that pass then problem relates to cars computer.First recheck all the fuses in the fuse box again, to confirm that no fuse is loose or blown. If all fuses checked ok then ECM( the cars computer is causing the problem. It has to be replaced.--------- click this link for throttle body plug inspection:--- http://howtobyme.blogspot.com/2011/07/throttle-body-plug-for-2005-s-type.html ---------- This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.
