SOURCE: Pajero 3000 Efi doesn't rev over 3000 - 3500 rpm

Well you already got the answer, it is the air mass flow unit sensor that is faulty, replacing it and clearing the error codes will solve the problem.

SOURCE: 2003 pajero 3.2 smokey when cold . code 25 and 43

Sounds like you have some valve guide seals bad or broken rings on the pistons that is if it is an oil smoke. If it is a flood smoke it sounds like you have an 02 sensor that has went bad.

Runs high rpm

depending on the tyre size and the final drive in the diff. that is about right. If you are worried about clutch slipping or if the OD is working then the rpm's would be way higher.

Pajero 3000 Efi doesn't rev over 3000 - 3500 rpm (neutral), a bit less when driving. When taking off the plug attached to airfilter housing (airflow sensor?) it does rev to over 4000 rpm but runs badly,...

How to fix pajero fieldmaster transmission? the gear only runs till 3rd gear and stops there..so if i step on the throttle up to 3x10000 rpm the temperature will rise..so i have to maintain only to 2x10000...

The Transmission computer is the Achillies heel of many Mitsubishi vehicles , it sounds like your Pajero is in " limp home " mode which gives you third gear only.
See if you can borrow a replacement computer to try.
Mitsubishi scrimped on the quality of the capacitors in their computers and their failure rate is very high.

I actually have the same problem just a few mos ago with my Pajero Fieldmaster 4M40 A/T. Is your speedometer working? My speedometer sensor is intermittently working if it does not work at all, the tranny will not shift to 4th gear no matter how hard you push the gas pedal to the limit!! I replaced the speed sensor and it goes back to normal now.
