You could have the start of an leaking manifold to find out if this is starting to happen spray some carb cleaner over the inlet manifold while engine is a temp if any changes happen when you spray an area i.e engine idles faster or cuts out then this is were you problem is going to start from. also check the air line with the cleaner. if every thing is fine then its just an intake clean is needed take the top off the inlet spray the carb cleaner in there let it sock for awhile and wipe out ht muck etc. don't do it with the engine running. after a good clean change the air filter. also on some models there is a secondary air intake vale check this as the vale can fail. when the engine valve fails can sound like the engine is high performance but with out the power. usually sits next to the exhaust manifold has 2 pipes coming out of the exhaust manifold to a pipe with a vale on it then a rubber pipe out to the front of the engine bay. some have fans fitted and some don't depends on engine number fitted. will have a filter at the end.

SOURCE: i heard a loud pop or something then my dash said

On applications with traction control, there is a switch to deactivate the system, which is normally enabled any time the ignition is turned on. TRAC ON and TRAC OFF lamps inform the driver of system status. The controller may deactivate the traction control system temporarily after it has been engaged for a certain period of time to prevent heat buildup in the brake linings and possible brake fade. ABS braking is not affected by the status of the traction control function. In your case it is the Anti Lock Brake system. You have to take it to a shop and have the antilock brake system checked with some special tools.

SOURCE: I have a 1993 grand am se 2.3L quad 4, runs rough and smells like gas, exhaust smells bad also. Changed plugs no difference

Sounds like your timing chain is streched does your car have more than 120,000 miles on it ? Also could be the spark sending unit (called a distributor) any auto parts store can help you with the parts, hope this helps.

Why is my exhaust is making noise and consuming more gas..??

my guess, is car has muffler explosions,
a mech, can tell that in and instant. , never here.
but this means, engine is running bad, RICH< and there is an
exhaust leak (air leak) that adds Air + fuel to the muffler and bam, back fire. or simular sounds
but i cant hear it so,, wild guessing and will be wrong most times.

Makes noises steering, just sounds like some old person moaning when steering, also from the rear I hear a wierd noise almost like a leaky exhaust when I hit the gas I hear a hissing whining noise those...

sounds like it may have an exhaust leak, rusted pipe or gasket that has rotted out, lift car off ground and look at the exhaust system and the power steering may be low on fluid. Hope this answered you questions.

It could be the exhuast gasket causing the noise. But, it most likely has a leak in the exhaust pipe somewhere. Over time the pipes rust. They do make an exhaust pipe tape that can be bought from a parts store. I've used it before, just locate the leak and wrap the tape around it. (Follow instructions on the box to make sure it's done right.)

I have a f250 97 7.3 L when I give it gas I can

use a propane tourch dont light it start the truck
open the hood
slowely move the torch arround the top of the motor
as you hit the vac leak the engine will start to speed up since it is getting propane and reg fuel
the closer you get to the leak the faster the motor will go
and wala you found the broken or disconected hose

My 2004 passat TDI is giving me an exhaust leak sound noise.

This vehicle certainly does have a waste gate and they do have problems. However the waste gate diverts exhaust internally so you would not hear any unusual noise if it was being problematical. Also if the expected boost from the turbo did not match the actual boost there would be a check engine code and light on. If the hoses between the Turbo & the intake have a leak there may be a similar loss in power depending on the extent of the leak. It would be best to scan the engine computer to see if there are any Codes.

Car overheat frequently and at time the engine sound is very loud

Several things can cause this overheating. Have you recently done a:
1. Check Hoses for Leaks
2. Check Radiator for Leaks --- Also, Change Radiator Cap ( can loose pressure there if
cap is bad)
3. Check Water Pump for Leaks. If Water Pump is bad, you will hear a loud noise from it
4 Complete Tune Up? Should be done at least 1x a Yr. Depending on how much you drive the Vehicle. Includes: Plugs, Plug Wires, Gas Filter, Air Breather Filter, PCV Valve, Adjust Timing,
Check Belts -- see if worn
5. Changed your Thermostat & Gasket and have the correct degree Thermostat in the Vehicle?
6.. Had your Radiator Rod and Cleaned out?
7. Temperture Sending Unit (located near Thermostat) could be bad
8. 02-Sensor (Generally located in the Exhaust Manifold - needs a socket with a space in it
to allow the Socket to fit over this top wire of the 0-2 Sensor )
9. Change oil and oil Filter.
10. Change Gas Tank Cap ---

Do all this yearly ( except the Radiator Rod & Clean ( do every 2-3 yrs), and you should not have
any over-heating nor stalling out, etc. and should pass emissions as well.
